Moe Uhane Hawaiian Dreams as Spirit Sleep Aid Dream Lover on Magnum PI

Summary: Moe uhane Hawaiian dreams as spirit sleep aid Dream Lover, season 4 episode 10 Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, on action drama television series Magnum PI.

The ample Pacific Island culture of their Polynesian ancestors abided in ancient, and abides in modern, Hawaiian culture. The Tahitian Polynesian word faaturama accounts figuratively for troubled minds and literally for overcast skies. Such melancholic reverie achieves in Polynesian-ancestored Hawaiian dream culture and interpretation dreams other than through ancestor gods, the dreamer or the latter's immortal, personal, soulful spirit. It acknowledges troubled dreams by other, troublesome spirits; "Faaturuma (Melancholic)," formerly titled "Faaturuma (The Dreamer)" or "Reverie," 1891 oil on canvas by French Post-Impressionist atist Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (June 7, 1848-May 8, 1903), The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas Ciy, Missouri: Public Domain, via Wikimedia Commons

Moe uhane Hawaiian dreams as spirit sleep aid Dream Lover, season 4 episode 10 debuted Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, and rerun Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, on action drama television series Magnum PI.
The 66th episode overall, directed by Avi Youabian and written by David Wolkove, burrows into Private Detective and Robin’s Nest majordomo Juliet Higgins’ (Perdita Weeks) dreams. The MI6 ex-agent (from Military Intelligence, Section 6, Secret Intelligence Service [SIS]) catches some sleep on a stakeout with Private Detective Partner Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez). Thomas divulges that Juliet dreamed a “sexy” dream, during which she delighted him by directly dropping his name “Several times and in a very suggestive manner.”
Juliet excuses the “sexy dream” as “Not sex dream. It was strictly PG” even as Thomas explains such romantic-encounter dreams as emphasizing that “people have needs.”

Polynesian-ancestored Hawaiian dream culture and interpretation acquiesces prioritarily to what the sleeper acquires from ancestor-god messages to immortal, personal, soulful spirits. The sleeper acquiting herself or himself in auspicious marriages acts itself out in hoike na ka po (from Hawaiian hō'ike na ka pō, "knowing from the night") revelations of the night; "Nafea faa ipoipo (When will you marry?)," 1892 oil on canvas by Paul Gauguin, purchased February 2015 by Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, sister of ruling emir of Qatar and chairperson of Qatar Museums, Doha, eastern Qatar: Public Domain, via Wikimedia Commons

It flummoxes Juliet that Thomas fesses to no such dreamed feelings about her even as the episode finishes with Juliet phoning Dr. Linda Ogawa (Tijuana Ricks).
Her greeting about getting in “this week” and going over “that dream again” guarantees that Dr. Ozawa already got the gist of Thomas as Dream Lover. Ancient and traditional Hawaiian culture handles dreams as moe uhane (from Hawaiian moe ‘uhane, “spirit sleep”) that the immortal, personal spirit inside the sleeping body has. That soul itinerates through the lua uhane (from Hawaiian lua ‘uhane, “spirit pit”) at the inner corner of the closed, perhaps male right, female left eye.
Soulful spirits journey in moe uhane Hawaiian dreams as spirit sleep with messages from ancestor gods; persons such as Dream Lover on Magnum PI; and spirits.

Polynesian-ancestored Hawaiian culture activates dream interpretations for spirit relationships. It actualizes pili mai ka po mai (from Hawaiian pili mai ka pō mai, "relationship coming in the night"). The spirit-relationship dream adds audio-visual adjustments for the sleeper to advance per aumakua (from Hawaiian 'au mākua, "era ancestor") ancestor gods through terrain and time toward the advised adventure, person, place, spirit or thing; "Parahi te marae (There is the Temple)," 1892 watercolor over graphite on washi, Fogg Museum, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts: Public Domain, via Wikimedia Commons

Aumakua (from Hawaiian 'au mākua, “era ancestor”) ancestor gods and immortal, personal, soulful spirits kindle most dreams even as non-spirits, oneself and other spirits kindle others.
The dreaming sleepers themselves; things that the latter likes, such as weke pahulu (“goatfish nightmare” literally, Upeneus taeniopterus scientifically); and troublesome spirits sometimes launch other dreams. Dreaming sleepers menace themselves when they munch on nightmare bandtails or finstripes whose toxins motivate moe weke pahulu (from Hawaiian moe weke pahulu, “sleep goatfish nightmare”). They likewise nullify themselves with such bad-wish, evil-fantasy dreams as moemoea (from Hawaiian moemoeā, “fantasy”) and such physically caused dreams as pupule (from Hawaiian pūpūle, “crazy”) dreams.
Moe uhane Hawaiian dreams occur as ancestor-god sleep; crazy and nightmare sleep; and sleeper sleep, such as in Dream Lover on Magnum PI, and troublesome-spirit sleep.

Aumakua (from Hawaiian 'au mākua, "era/time-period ancestor/parent/paent generation") ancestor gods affect Polynesian-ancestored Hawaiian dream culture and interpretation. The immortal, personal, soul spirit within each Hawaiian also affiliates with each spirit-affirmed dream; "Merahi metua no Tehamana (Tehamana Has Many Parents or Ancestors of Tehamana)," 1893 oil on jute by Paul Gauguin, Art Institute of Chicago, Cook County, northeastern Illinois: Public Domain, via Wikimedia Commons

Troublesome spirits such as the mischievous, oversexed spirit Kahaula (from Hawaiian kaha ‘ula, “sensual dream”) prompt invaded-sleep moe ino (from Hawaiian moe ‘ino, “sleep stormy”).
Kane o ka po and wahine o ka po (from Hawaiian kāne o ka pō; wahine o ka pō) quest a husband, a wife one night.” The moemoeā fantasy dreams reveal such an unsettling outcome in their wishfulness, which renders itself as moe hooko (from Hawaiian moe ho’okō, “dream-fulfilling wish”) if realized. The sexy dream that stresses Juliet Higgins suggests stormy sleep over the fact that Thomas sees someone else, Honolulu Police Department Detective Lia Kaleo (Chantal Thuy).
Dream Lover on Magnum PI therefore treats moe uhane Hawaiian dreams as spirit sleep if they threaten no happiness in the Higgins-Kaleo-Magnum personal and professional triangle.
