Ivishak River Acts as Wild July on Audubon Arctic Wall Calendar 2024

Summary: Ivishak River acts as Wild July on Audubon Arctic Wall Calendar 2024, where the National Audubon Society attends wild Arctic and near-Arctic North America.

"God talks to human beings through many vectors: through each other, through organized religion, through the great books of those religions, through wise people, through art and music and literature and poetry, but nowhere with such detail and grace and color and joy as through creation. When we destroy a species, when we destroy a special place, we're diminishing our capacity to sense the divine, understand who God is and what our own potential is." Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., April 19, 2023, Boston Park Plaza Hotel, Back Bay, Boston, Massachusetts.

“And there’s many people out there who want us to move to the next planet already and I’m like, hang on, let’s not give up on this planet yet," William, Prince of Wales, July 31, 2023, Sorted Food food truck, London, England, United Kingdom.

Ivishak River acts as Wild July on Audubon Arctic Wall Calendar 2024, where the National Audubon Society attends Canada and the United states continentally, insularly, as wild Arctic and near-Arctic North America.
The 95-mile- (153-kilometer-) long Ivishak River bears its name according to Board on Geographic Names decisions Jan. 1, 1949, Jan. 1, 1959, and Jan. 1, 1916. Ernest de Koven Leffingwell (Jan. 13, 1875-Jan. 27, 1971) changed Inuit (from Inuktitut ᐃᓄᐃᑦ, “the people”) nomenclature communicated by Diamond Jenness (Feb. 10, 1886-Nov. 29, 1969). The water body in the North Slope Borough of northern Alaska describes a northeastward to northwestward course from its head in Brooks Range, at 68°34′25″N 147°16′43″W.
The waters entertained as National Wild and Scenic River since Dec. 2, 1980, enters Sagavanirktok River 55 miles (89 kilometers) south of Prudhoe Bay, Arctic Plain.

Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act Dec. 2, 1980, fit the Sagavanirktok (from Iñupiat sawanukto, “strong current”) tributary under United States Fish and Wildlife Service administration.
That administration guards 80 miles (129 kilometers) that as headwaters, main stem apart lowermost part and Porcupine Lake unnamed tributary grace the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The Ivishak River heads from glacier-honed, headwater-housing terrain through upland terrains of the Philip Smith Mountains and the northern foothills of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. It finally inhabits the flatter terrain of the coastal plain southward from the United States Census Bureau-designated place identified as the 558-square-mile (1,445-square-kilometer) Prudhoe Bay lands.
The Ivishak River journeys, as Wild July on Audubon Arctic Wall Calendar 2024 and during any polar-region month, through the cold-winter and the cool-summer tundra climate.

The tundra (from Kildin Sami тӯннтрэ, “treeless flatland” via Russian ту́ндра) climate kindles summer temperatures of 45 to 55 degrees Fahrenheit (7 to 13 degrees Celsius).
The tundra-region climate lets the Ivishak River and its riverbanks annually log at least one month with 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) as average temperature. It means year-in, year-out hanging and u-shaped glacier-made and v-shaped river-made valleys or year-round maintenance of glaciers, manifestation of ice fields and movement of flowing springs. Its hard, permanently frozen grounds negate woody-plant needs for roots deep-niched in soils that net air and water pore spaces and root-uptakeable solibilizable or soluble nutrients.
Coastal plain, montane and upland animal and plant species occur alongside, proximitous to or visible from Ivishak River, Wild July on Audubon Arctic Wall Calendar 2024.

The North Slope Borough alongside, proximitous to or visible from the Ivishak River possesses grasses, lichens, mosses and sedges; some dwarf shrubs; and sometimes dwarf trees.
Ivishak River-proximitous and Ivishak River-visible vegetation quarters such tussocks as cottongrass (Eriophorum spp) and such woody plants as poplar (Poplar), spruce (Picea) and willow (Salix) trees. They realize such avian wildlife as king (Somateria spectabilis), spectacled (Somateria fischeri) and Steller’s (Polysticta stelleri) eiders; long-tailed ducks (Clangula hyemalis); and yellow-billed loons (Gavia adamsii). They shelter gyrfalcons (Falco rusticolus), peregrine falcons (Falco peregrinus), rough-legged hawks (Buteo lagopus) and snowy owls (Nyctea scandiaca) and such mammals as brown lemmings (Lemmus trimucronatus).
Ivishak River, as Wild July on Audubon Arctic Wall Calendar 2024, treats its audiences to the northern-subspecied dolly varden trout (Salvelinus malma malma) of Arctic drainages.
