Kiawe Trees Perhaps Ally Magnum's Easy Money With the Niihau Incident

Summary: Kiawe trees in Hawaiian cities, forests and towns maybe ally Magnum's Easy Money crash landing with the Niihau incident crash landing after Pearl Harbor.

Prussian exploreer and polymath Alexander von Humboldt (Sep. 14, 1769-May 6, 1859) and French botanist and explorer Aimé Bonpland (Aug. 29, 1773-May 11, 1858) are credited with describing Prosopis pallida, a species of mesquite tree known as kiawe in Hawaii; Kaupo, southeastern Maui; Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003: Forest & Kim Starr, CC BY 3.0 Unported, via Wikimedia Commons

Kiawe trees in Hawaiian cities, forests and towns perhaps ally Easy Money, Magnum's episode Dec. 11, 2020, on crash landing with the Niihau incident crash landing after Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941.
Director Bryan Spicer and writer David Wolkove board private investigators Juliet Higgins (Perdita Weeks) and Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez) on a plane belonging to drug lords. Season Three's second episode, the crime action drama television series' 42nd episode overall, concerns armed hitmen, contracted by the drug cartel, causing the plane to crash. It develops around a downed plane in a jungle, as did the first season's final, 20th episode, The Day It All Came Together, April 1, 2018.
Hawaiian jungles embrace a broadleaf-forested, moist, tropical, 2,587-square-mile (6,700-square-kilometer), windward area whose wettest, rainforest elements encompass 4,100- to 5,580-foot (1,250- to 1,700-meter) altitudes above sea level.

Plane failure over any Hawaiian forest finds historical parallels in the Niihau incident from Dec. 1 to Dec. 13, 1941, if kiawe trees fetch enemy fire.
An ammunition-laden Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service pilot, Airman First Class Shigenori Nishikaichi (1919?-Dec. 13, 1941), got to Niihau (from Hawaiian Ni'ihau) after bombing Pearl Harbor. Japanese-born Ishimatsu Shintani, Japanese-born Irene Harada and the latter's Hawaiian-born Japanese husband Yoshio helped harm kiawe trees and hold two of 133 Hawaiian-only language speakers hostage. The Fabaceae (from Latin faba, "bean" and -āceae, "resembling") bean, legume, pea family member inhabits sea-level through 4,921.26-foot (1,500-meter) altitudes on all eight inhabited Hawaiian islands.
Kiawe trees juggle mean annual 1.97- to 59.06-inch (50- to 1,500-millimeter) rainfall and temperature ranges of 41 to 122-plus degrees Fahrenheit (5 to 50-plus degrees Celsius).

Temperatures between 68 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit (20 and 30 degrees Celsius) and water absorption by broken or weakened hard coats kindle dormantly viable seed germinations.
Compressed, edible, fleshy, parallel-margined, straight to sickle-shaped, straw-yellow pods with tapered, round-based, long or short leaf stalk base-straddling stipules lodge brown, oblong, 0.26-inch- (6.5-millimeter-) long seeds. Their mature manifestations manage 2.36- to 9.84-inch (6- to 25-centimeter) lengths, 0.39- to 0.59-inch (1.0- to 1.5-centimeter) breadths and 0.19- to 0.35-inch (5- to 9-millimeter) thicknesses. All seasons nurture seeding fruits from fruiting flowers, the latter each perfect with a shaggy-haired, stalked ovary and 0.19- to 0.28-inch- (5- to 7-millimeter-) long stamens.
Kiawe trees, mesquites commonly, Prosopis pallida (from Latin prosopis, "burdock" and pallida, "pale") scientifically, offer 3.15 to 5.91-inch- (8- to 15-centimeter-) long, 200- to 250-flowered shafts.

Hairy-stalked mesquite racemes (from Latin racēmus, "bunch") present green-yellow, 0.09- to 0.12-inch- (2.5- to 3-millimeter-) long petals on 0.02- to 0.06-inch- (0.5- to 1.5-millimeter-) long calyxes.
One to four-paired, cuplike-glanded, 0.59- to 2.36-inch- (1.5- to 6-centimeter-) long pinnae (from Latin pinna, "feather") quarter hairy 0.32- to 1.77-inch (0.8- to 4.5-centimeter-) long shafts. They reveal six- to 15-paired elliptical, oblong, oval or pointed, gray-green-white, 0.09- to 0.33-inch- (2.5 to 8.3-millimeter-) long, 0.06- to 0.16-inch- (1.4- to 4.0-millimeter-) broad leaflets. Twig junctions on 50- to 150-year-olds with 26.25- to 65.62-foot- (8- to 20-meter-) heights and 23.62-inch (60-centimeter) diameters sport thorns under 1.58 inches (4 centimeters) long.
Kiawe trees threatened by crash landings of twentieth-century weapon and twenty-first-century drug transports tie Niihau incident terrors thematically to Magnum's Easy Money troubles 79 years later.
