Kawelo’s Kite Kalupeakawelo Amuses ‘Imiloa November 2024 Sky Watch

Summary: Kawelo’s Kite Kalupeakawelo, with its allusion to an ancient, athletic kite-flying chief and hero of Kauai island, amuses ‘Imiloa November 2024 Sky Watch.

"God talks to human beings through many vectors: through each other, through organized religion, through the great books of those religions, through wise people, through art and music and literature and poetry, but nowhere with such detail and grace and color and joy as through creation. When we destroy a species, when we destroy a special place, we're diminishing our capacity to sense the divine, understand who God is and what our own potential is." Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., April 19, 2023, Boston Park Plaza Hotel, Back Bay, Boston, Massachusetts.

“And there’s many people out there who want us to move to the next planet already and I’m like, hang on, let’s not give up on this planet yet," William, Prince of Wales, July 31, 2023, Sorted Food food truck, London, England, United Kingdom.

Kawelo, athletic chief and hero of ancient Kauai, appeals to modern and traditional Hawaiians perhaps as much as he appealed to ancient Hawaiians. Hawaiian kites are not all square as Kawelo’s applauded kite. They perhaps nevertheless arise from Kawelo a Maihunalii’s (flourished around 1700) athletic, chiefly, heroic attractiveness to kite boarders, kite flyers and kite surfers; Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, 04:26, image of Haiku, Upcountry Maui-born big-wave kitesurfer and a big-air kiteboarder Jesse Richman: Pierre Bouras, CC BY SA 4.0 International, via Wikimedia Commons

Kawelo’s Kite Kalupeakawelo, with its allusion to an ancient, athletic kite-flying chief and hero of Kauai island, amuses ‘Imiloa November 2024 Sky Watch even as no constellation, planet or star attenuates it.
Kawelo’s Kite Kalupeakawelo (from Hawaiian ka lupe a kawelo, “the kite of Kawelo [from ka welo, “the family trait”]”) brightens ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center and all Hawaii. ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center considers evening competitors such as the asterism Makalii and the planets Hokuloa, Kaawela and Makulu and early-morning constellations such as Makalii bailer Kekaomakalii. Darkened-sky denizens dazzle by 8:00 p.m. Hawaii-Aleutian (4:00 Chamorro, 7:00 Samoa, 10:00 Alaska, 11:00 Pacific, midnight Mountain, 1:00 next-day Central, 2:00 Eastern, 2:00 Atlantic) Time onward.
Evening-sky embellishments enlighten ‘Imiloa center of Hilo, Hawaii County, island, state (from Hawaiian ‘imi loa, “to search far”; hilo, “thread”; ha wai ‘i, “breath life-force supreme”).

Kawelo’s kite Kalupeakawelo fits, south of ‘Ākau horizon’s Hokupaa, Koolau- and Hoolua-facing (from Hawaiian ‘ākua, “north”; hōkū pā, "star-fence"; ko’olau, “north[east]”; ho’olua, “north[west]”) Iwakelii and Kamoi.
Iwakelii and Kamoi group north of Hikina- and Komohana-ward (from Hawaiian ‘iwa ali’i, “frigatebird chief”; ka mō’ī, “the king”; hikina, “east”; komo, “west”) Manokalanipo and Kakuhihewa. Manokalanipo and Kakuhihewa head northward of their fellow kite- and Pegasus-square stars (from Hawaiian manō ka la nipō, “shark the heavenly night[‘s]”; kākuhi hewa, “chart mistakenly”). Piilani and Keawe (from Hawaiian pi’ilani, “climbing heaven[ward]”; ke awe, “the bearer”) inhabit northward of Hikina-inclined Piikea, Malanai-inclined Kaikilani and Kalanikauleleaiwi and Kona-inclined Kukaniloko and Nalani.
Kawelo’s Kite Kalupeakawelo joins Piikea, Kaikilani and Kalanikauleleaiwi into one kite string and Kukaniloko and Nalani into a parallel string during ‘Imiloa November 2024 Sky Watch.

Piikea, Kaikilani, Kalanikauleleaiwi (from Hawaiian pi’i kea, “becoming [day]light”; ka iki lani, “the little chief[ess]”; ka lani kaulele a iwi, “the chief’s altar’s bones”) keep eastward.
Westerly Hema-ward kite strings, located near Saturn (Hawaiianized Makulu), lodge Kukaniloko and Nalani (from Hawaiian kū kani loko, “to anchor sound within”; nā lani, “the heavens”). Aldebaran (ka puahi, “the fireplace”); Altair (humu, “fishhook-hole”), Deneb (pira’etea, “white sea-swallow”), Vega (keoe, “sweet-potato”); Auriga (hōkū lei, “star-wreath”); Pleiades (maka li’i, “eyes little”) manifest nightly. Jupiter, Milky Way and Venus niche evenings, before early-morning Jupiter and Mars (ka ‘āwela, “the hot”; i’a, “fish”; hōkū loa, “star long”; hōkū ula, “star red”).
‘Imiloa November 2024 Sky Watch offers Kawelo’s kite Kalupeakawelo evenings and Makalii bailer Kekaomakalii (from Hawaiian ke kā o Makalii, “the canoe-bailer of Pleiades”) early mornings.

Makalii bailer Kekaomakalii presents early mornings easterly Auriga, Castor, Pollux, Procyon and Sirius (nānā mua, “star first”; nānā hope, “star last”; puana, “blossom”; ‘a’ā, “bright burning”).
Kawelo’s kite Kalupeakawelo, like Makalii bailer Kekaomakalii, quarters stars that quantify among quintessential queues of what mainland Unitedstatesians qualify for their evening, night and early-morning quests. Iwakelii, Kalanikauleleaiwi, Kamoi, Kukaniloko and Piikea respectively represent Cassiopeia, Archenar, Cepheus, Formalhaut, Diphda and Kakuhihewa, Keawe, Manokalanipo and Piilani Great-Square stars Scheat, Markab, Alpheratz and Algenib. Humu, Keoe and Piraetea respectively serve as the Navigator’s Triangle and the summer triangle stars Altair, Deneb and Vega even as Hokupaa suggests the North Star.
Leonid meteor showers from Tempel-Tuttle comet transiting toward our Earth in January and February 1998 team with Kawelo’s kite Kalupeakawelo during ‘Imiloa November 2024 Sky Watch.

Kite-boarding, kite-flying and kite-surfing competitions perhaps aver modern and traditional Hawaiian avowals about athletic, chiefly, heroic Kawelo, whose kite-flying awarded him with the navigational star family and star line Kalupeakawelo (from Hawaiian ka lupe a kawelo, “the kite of Kawelo [from ka welo, “the family trait”]”). Chief Kawelo a Maihunalii perhaps still awes modern and traditional Hawaiians who perhaps award him with kite-boarding, kite-flying, kite-surfing ancestorship; Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, 11:54, image of Haiku, Upcountry Maui-born big-wave kitesurfer and a big-air kiteboarder Jesse Richman: MakenaStockMedia, CC BY SA 4.0 International, via Wikimedia Commons
