Audubon Arctic Wall Calendar 2024 allies with November polar bears, ringed seal predators whom they aliken in abiding among Arctic and Sub-Arctic sea ice as areas that allow meeting, mating and resting.

March, April and May betoken when polar bears (sea bear, Ursus maritimus, "bear sea" literally) most bother ringed seals (bristly seal, Pusa hispida, “seal bristly” literally). Ringed-seal mothers-to-be construct four to six lairs to contain each annually conceived pup the first two months of that newborn’s perhaps 25- to 40-year lifespan. The five- to seven-week lactation period demands that the ringed-seal mother and her pup, birth-weighted at 10 pounds (4.53592 kilograms) domicile in different lairs different nights.
