The Hawaii Department of Transportation's 10 commercial harbors, 15 airports and 1,012.84 miles (1,630 kilometers) of roads get travelers around Hawai'i, Lāna'i, Maui, Moloka'i and O'ahu. Kaiwikuamo'o pulls together Hōkūpa'a (North Star), Nāhiku (Big Dipper), Hōkūle'a (Arcturus), Hikianalia (Spica), Me'e (Corvus) and Hānalakamalama (Southern Cross).

Ho'olua (northwest), komohana (west) and kona (southwest) horizons quarter Hōkūlei (Capella); Hoku'ula (Mars), Nānāmua (Castor), Nānāhope (Pollux), Puana (Procyon) and 'A'ā (Sirius); and Hoku-noho-aupuni (Milky Way). Hōkūloa (Venus) rises eastward in the hikina horizon, before the sun at 6 a.m. HST (4 p.m. UTC) and southwesterly celestial objects in the kona horizon. The curling shape of Manaiakalani (Māui's Fish Hook) and the planets Ka'awela (Jupiter) and Makulu (Saturn) show up soon afterward, high in the morning, southwestern skies.

Monthly 'Imiloa sky charts tell what treks through night skies over northwestern and windward Hawaiian islands and how to travel to and from there by starlines.
