Orange Tabby Cats Act Like and Unlike Magnum's A Leopard on the Prowl

Summary: Orange tabby cats act less audaciously like and more appreciatively unlike ailing Icepick, who appears as Magnum PI's A Leopard on the Prowl May 8, 2020.

80 percent of orange tabbies are male because the orange tabby gene is linked to the X chromosome, of which males have one since they are XY-chromosomed; females are XX-chromosomed, so they have to inherit the orange tabby gene on both chromosomes; tabby may come from the rich striped swirling patterned silk of Jewish weavers of the Attabiyah District of Baghdad, Iraq; undated watercolor by Swiss autistic savant Gottfried Mind (Sept. 25, 1768-Nov. 17, 1814); helveticarchives.ch; Swiss National Library, Prints and Drawings Department, Public Domain, via Wikimedia Commons

Orange tabby cats act less audaciously like and more appreciatively unlike ailing Icepick, who appears as Magnum PI's A Leopard on the Prowl crime action drama television series episode May 8, 2020.
Director Bryan Spicer and writers Eric Guggenheim and Peter Lenkov bare base, brash behavior bearing Icepick (Corbin Bernsen) back among bad boys in his final days. Season Two's 20th episode, series' 40th overall, concerns career criminal Icepick, legally Frank Hofstetler, canceling skydiving with a comely fellow cancer patient for scoring warehouse cash. Domestic cats (Felis catus, from Latin fēlēs, "cat" and cattus, "cat") such as orange tabbies sometimes deport themselves like such wild relatives as leopards (Panthera pardus).
Spotted panthers (from Latin panthēra, "panther" and pardus, "mottled, spotted") engage in real prowling when they experience hunger and in rehearsed prowls to expend excess energy.

Rick Wright (Zachary Knighton), friend of private investigator Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez), finds out that father-figure Icepick, despite feigning otherwise, followed through on final, near-fatal feistiness.
Domestic cats such as orange tabbies and their wild relatives, such as leopards, gather dead prey for meal times and dead nuisance wildlife for human families. Season One's seventh episode, The Cat Who Cried Wolf, Nov. 5, 2018, honors one orange tabby having cats' night out and another hindering a second homicide. Season Two's fifth episode, series' 25th overall, introduces a gray, mackerel-patterned cat, in fact tabby relative of the orange tabby cats inspiring Magnum's moniker, Pet Detective.
Brown-, gray-, red-striped and tail-tipped blotch-, patch-, spot-, stripe-, tick-patterned bodies justify Season Two's gray cat joining, as a gray tabby, Season One's orange tabby cats.

Coat colors, known from the color kept by the stripes and the tail tip, and coat patterns, known from five types, kindle the name tabby cat.
Brown-, gray-, red-blotched classic tabby coat patterns lodge curving, marbled, swirling, wide stripes over flanks and shoulders and three stripes from shoulder blades to tail base. Brown-, gray-, red-striped mackerel (Scombridae family, from Greek σκόμβρος, "mackerel" and -ειδής, "resembling") patterns manifest broken, continuous, fishbone-like, narrow, tiger-like stripes perpendicular to one spinal stripe. Brown, red-ginger, red-marmalade and red-orange blotches, spots and stripes nestle all over tabby cats, albeit most noticeably on heads and legs, with mottled, patched coat patterns.
Spotted coat patterns offer brown, gray and orange tabby cats large and small spots in broken mackerel-stripe, oval, rose-like or round shapes all over their sides.

Ticked coat patterns present brown, gray, red-ginger, red-marmalade, red-orange, solid-colored, unmarked bodies and blotched, patched, spotted, striped faces with the letter M-like tabby pattern on foreheads.
Black-tipped individual hairs alternately dark- and light-banded; brown-, gray-, red-blotched, patched, spotted, striped faces; and M-patterned foreheads qualify as quintessential brown, gray and orange tabby traits. M-like patterns legendarily represent Islamic Prophet Muhammed's (570?-June 8, 632) cat Muezza (from Arabic معزة, "cherished"), mau Egyptian cats or Our Lady Mary (16 B.C.E.-58 C.E.). Abyssinian, American Bobtail, Bengal, British Shorthair, Maine Coon, Manx, Mau, Munchkin, Norwegian Forest, Persian, Turkish Angora and 14 other breeds show red-ginger, red-marmalade, red-orange tabby patterns.
Icepick, trouble-free through Rick's generosity, thinks of prowling for theft as illegally thrilling whereas orange tabby cats, like related leopards, time prowling to individual, team survival.

Rick Wright's (Zachary Knighton) unpredictable, criminally inclined father-figure Icepick (Corbin Bernsen), granted compassionate release for stage IV cancer, is doublecrossed in his return prowl to theft in Magnum P.I.'s A Leopard on the Prowl (season 2 episode 20): What2Vue@What2Vue, via Twitter April 28, 2020
