Tiger mosquitoes annoy two investigators in Magnum's Death Is Only Temporary crime action drama television series episode Oct. 29, 2018, and perhaps attack again in Farewell to Love Apr. 17, 2021.
Director Duane Clark and writers Gene Hong and Scarlett Lacey besiege Juliet Higgins (Perdita Weeks) and private investigator Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez) with biting, bothersome bugs. Season One’s sixth episode perhaps converges tiger mosquitoes, also called forest mosquitoes, upon the professional couple, camouflaged as a personal couple in Season Two’s 16th episode. Elizabeth Cole (Alexandra Marlin) decomposed for 31 years in Waimano Park, perhaps more a mosquito-draw than Waimea Falls, where Bert (Tanner Gill) decomposes for several hours.
Oahu (from Hawaiian o’ahu, “gathering place”) entertains no endemic (Hawaii-exclusive, from Greek ἐν, "in" and δῆμος, "people"), indigenous (from Latin indigenus, “in-born”) or native mosquito species.

Perhaps Magnum’s Death Is Only Temporary and A Kiss Before Dying respectively feature tiger and yellow fever mosquitoes as the two day-biting of six foreign species.
Physically and sexually mature females generate no more than four separate 50- to 150-egg batches not long after getting no more than four separate blood meals. Birdbaths, bottle caps, buckets, clogged drains, flowerpots, plant saucers, soda cans, tires and tree holes with at least 0.5-inch- (1.27-centimeter-) deep stagnant water hold single-laid eggs. Black or black-brown, oval, smooth, 0.019- to 0.039-inch- (0.5- to 1-millimeter-) long eggs inhabit artificial and natural water-holders, apart ditches and marshes, just above water lines.
Four-instar (from Latin instar, “form, likeness”) larval tiger mosquitoes journey vertically underwater for six to 10 days as bacteria- and debris-feeding, oxygen-breathing, short-siphon wigglers and wrigglers.

The bottom-feeding, surface-dwelling larvae keep to aquatic, organic diets of microscopic organisms and particles and know worm-like, 0.25-inch- (0.64-centimeter-) long bodies just before the pupal stage.
Larval stages last longer for female than male wigglers and wrigglers, particularly with cooler temperatures and launch pupal, third life-cycle stages as mobile, non-feeding, stimuli-responsive tumblers. Inhaled air makes their abdomens expand enough to move two- to four-day-old pupae (from Latin pūpa, "girl") out as 0.08- to 0.39-inch (2- to 10-millimeter) adults. Culicidae (from Latin culex, "gnat" and Greek -ειδής, "-like") family members named Aedes albopictus (from Latin aedēs, "tomb"; albus, “white”; pictus, “painted") scientifically net pointed-tip abdomens.
Tiger mosquitoes, observed scientifically by Frederick Arthur Askew Skuse (baptized June 17, 1866; died June 10, 1896) observe black to black-brown, white-marked heads, bodies and legs.

Black, black-brown legs and thoracic (from Greek θώραξ, "breastplate") sides and and abdominal uppersides respectively possess white-banded tarsi (from Greek ταρσός, "flat drying-frame") and white scales.
Both genders queue up a central white line along head and thoracic upper-sides, white-banded palpus (from Latin palpus, “feeler”) and white-scaled abdominal undersides and thoracic sides. Adult females versus males, smaller-sized by 20 percent, reveal blood-feeding, sharp-pointed fascicles (from fasciculus, "little bundle") and nectar-feeding mouthparts versus mouthparts restricted to juice- and nectar-feeding. All four life-cycle stages, since their spreads from their native southeast Asia, survive in subtropical and tropical sections year-round and in temperate sections during summer months.
Female tiger mosquitoes perhaps only terrorized Higgins and Magnum, without transmitting Chikungunya, dengue, yellow and Zika fever viruses through blood-meal transfusions from human ankles and elbows.
