Olonā Hawaiian Nettle Shrubs for Hawaii Five-0 Emergency Landings?

Summary: Even cordage from olonā Hawaiian nettle shrubs would not make emergency landings non-fatal on Hawaii Five-0 2010 Season 9's sixth episode Nov. 2, 2018.

Emergency landings assail the Hawaii Five-0 2010 episode Is Borne on the Back; Is Borne in the Arms Nov. 2, 2018, even as ancient antecedents are avoidable with olonā Hawaiian nettle shrubs.
Director Peter Weller and writers Paul Grellong and Rob Hanning bring into Season 9's sixth episode the accident-applicable olelo au (advice) Aia I Hi'ikua; I Hi'lalo. The proverb considers casualties of accident, ailment or assassination carryable in the arms and cherished in life and carryable on the back and commemorated in death.
Māui, half-god son of 'Akalana and Hina-a-ke-ahi in the 18th-century Kumulipo Hawaiian creation chant, delighted ancient Hawaiians during and after his lifetime because of his deeds. Māui employed a kite to express fair weather, encouraged long summer days for the short day-loving sun and extracted ocean sand to establish the Hawaiian islands.

Olonā Hawaiian nettle shrubs furnished Māui with durable fibers for long, strong lines to kapa (paper cloth) kites from wauke (paper mulberry, Broussonetia papyrifera) inner bark.
Olonā Hawaiian nettle shrubs grow to mature 2- to 10-foot (0.61- to 3.0-foot) heights from root shoots, rooted stem cuttings and seeds during five-plus-year life cycles. Seeds have 83 percent germination rates into ōpū (wild) olonā since commercial forestry and plantation agro-industry hinder traditional olonā māla (garden) and two-plus-acre (0.81-plus-hectare) kēhāpai cultivation. Transplanting olonā, identified in 1851 by Charles Gaudichaud-Beaupré (Sept. 4, 1789-Jan. 16, 1854) injures the fragile-rooted Urticaceae (from Latin urtica, "nettle" and -āceae "resembling") family member.
Olonā Hawaiian nettle shrubs juggle inedible fruits and seeds; medicinal juices; medicinal and wildlife-friendly leaves; rope-, string-, textile-, thread-, tie- and twine-purposed inner bark; wildlife-friendly flowers.

Olonā Hawaiian nettle shrubs, known scientifically as Touchardia latifolia (from the French surname Touchard and the Latin lātifolia, "broad-leaved"), keep dry, non-explosive seeds within fleshy fruits.
Orange mulberry-like fruits in Hawai'i, Kaua'i, Lāna'i, Maui, Moloka'i and O'ahu individually lodge one oval achene (from Greek ἀ, a, "not" and χαίνω, khaínō, "to gape"). They mingle with five-lobed, 0.5- to 1-inch (1.27- to 2.54-centimeter) diameter, 3- to 5-inch- (7.62- to 12.7-centimeter-) long male-flowering clusters and short-diameter, small-headed female flower clusters. Olonā, named scientifically for Touchard, 1836-1837 Bonite expeditioner noting latitude and longitude, nets perianths with four angular, fleshy, long, somewhat equal-sized lobes and long, spoon-like stigmas.
Olonā Hawaiian nettle shrubs offer 2- to 3-inch- (5.08- to 7.62-centimeter-) long stipules (from the Latin stipula, "haystalk, straw") as leaf-like pairs at leaf stalk bases.

Alternate-placed, broad-based, oval, 9- to 16-inch- (22.86- to 40.64-centimeter-) long, 5- to 9-inch- (12.7- to 22.86-centimeter-) wide olonā leaves possess fine-toothed margins and three red-brown veins.
Flowers, foliage and fruits queue up at leaf axils (junctures) with 2- to 3-inch (5.08- to 7.62-centimeter) diameter stems with green young, mature brown peel-friendly bark. Stripped, flattened, scraped, twisted inner bark realizes bird- and fish-catching, canoe, drum and ukulele, feather cape and helmet, house timber, kite, sled rail and weapon cordage. Boggy inland valleys and marshy, mossy upland forests at 147.64- to 3,937-plus-foot (45- to 1,200-plus-meter) altitudes above sea level supply olonā maximum 100-inch (2,540-millimeter) annual rainfall.
Emergency landings trouble Māui's olonā-tied kite less than Steve McGarrett's (Alex O'Loughlin) olonā-less expert pilot friend Carson Rodes's (Eddie Cahill) Cessna 172 on the U.S.S. Nimitz.
