Stars Amid and Around Star Lines Alighten Hilo, Hawaii February 2025

Summary: Stars amid and around the star lines Makalii Bailer and Kite of Kawelo alighten galaxy-, moon-, planet-, star-lit skies above Hilo, Hawaii February 2025.

"God talks to human beings through many vectors: through each other, through organized religion, through the great books of those religions, through wise people, through art and music and literature and poetry, but nowhere with such detail and grace and color and joy as through creation. When we destroy a species, when we destroy a special place, we're diminishing our capacity to sense the divine, understand who God is and what our own potential is." Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., April 19, 2023, Boston Park Plaza Hotel, Back Bay, Boston, Massachusetts.

“And there’s many people out there who want us to move to the next planet already and I’m like, hang on, let’s not give up on this planet yet," William, Prince of Wales, July 31, 2023, Sorted Food food truck, London, England, United Kingdom.

Stars amid and around the star lines Makalii Bailer and Kite of Kawelo alighten galaxy-, moon-, planet-, star-lit skies above Hilo, “Big Island” of Hawaii County and island, Hawaii state February 2025.
February, Hawaiianized as Feberuari, Kalua (from Hawaiian ka lua, “a pit” literally, “to bury, hide underground”), Kaulua, Nana, Pepeluali, bears as complete star line Makalii Bailer. Kekaomakalii (Hawaiian ke kā o Makalii, “the canoe-bailer of Pleiades (Greek Πλειάδες, “doves,” Latin Plēiadēs Hawaiianized maka[-]ali’i, "eyes/stars[-]little]”) stellarly configures Hokulei, Nanamua, Nanhope, Puana, Aa, Kealiiokonaikalewa. Kalupeakawelo displays only the star-line end-star Iwakelii (from Hawaiian ka lupe a Ka Welo, “the kite of The Family[-]Trait”; Hawaiian ‘iwa ali’i, “frigatebird [Fregata minor] chief”).
Starline-area stars enlighten Akau north, Koolau northeast, Hikina east, Malanai southeast, Kona southwest, Komohana (Hawaiian ‘ākau, “westward”; ko’olau, “windward”; hikina; malanai, “gentle[-]breeze”; kona, “leeward”) west horizons.

Ursa Minor features Hokupaa Hokulei (from Latin ursa minor, “bear lesser”; Polaris, from Latin polus[-]áris, “pole-pertaining” Hawaiianized hōkū[-]pa’a, “star[-]immovable”; Latin aurīga, “charioteer” Hawaiianized hōkū[-]lei, “star[-]wreath”) northward.
Nanamua and Nanahope glimpse Ursa Major (Latin Castor, “beaver” Hawaiianized nana[-]mua, “look/star[-]forward”; “Pollux,” from Greek πολύς[-]δεῦκος, “much[-]sweet” Hawaiianized nana[-]hope, “look/star behind”; Latin ursa major, “bear greater”). Eastern-horizoned Leo’s Ikiiki, like Ursa Major’s Nahiku (from Greek λέων, Latin leō, lion”; Latin rēgulus, “kinglet”, Hawaiianized ikiiki, “sultry”; “Big Dipper,” Hawaiianized nā[-]hiku, “the[-]seven”) highlights Nanahope. Hydra, southeast of Mu’s Puana (from Greek ῠ̔́δρᾱ, “sea-serpent”; Latin Canis Minor, “dog lesser” Hawaiianized mū; “Procyon,” from Greek πρό κύων, “before[-]dog), illuminates the Malanai horizon.
Galaxy-, moon-, planet-, star-lit Hawaii skies February 2025 jubilate Akau-, Koolau-, Hikina-, Malanai-, Kona-, Komohana-horizoned stars amid and around Makalii Bailer and Kawelo’s Kite star lines.

Kaheiheionakeiki (Orion, from Akkadian Uru-anna, “heaven’s[-]light” via Greek Ὠρίων via Latin Ōrīōn; Hawaiianized ka hei-hei o nā keiki, “the cat’s-cradle of the children”) kindles Malanai-horizon nightlights.
Kaheiheionakeiki stars Kauluakoko and Puanakau (“Betelgeuse,” from Arabic يَد الجَوْزَاء, “hand[-]of[-]the[-]central[-]one” Hawaiianized kaulu[-]koko, “star[-]blood”; “Rigel,” from Arabic رِجْل, “foot/leg” Hawaiianized puana[-]kau, “blossom[-]place”?) log luminous southwest horizons. The constellation Cetus and perhaps the constellation Taurus (from Greek κῆτος, “sea monster, huge fish” Hawaiianized “humpback[-]whale”; Greek Ταῦρος, “bull”) matter at southwest- and west-merged horizons. Taurus-constellation star Kapuahi (Aldebaran, from Arabic اَلدَّبَرَان, “the follower”; Hawaiianized kapu[-]ahi, “place[-]of fire”) nestles somewhat north of the constellation Koholā, somewhat south of the constellation Hokulei.
Galaxy-, moon-, planet-, star-lit Hawaii skies February 2025 observe stars amid and around such navigational star families as star lines Makalii Bailer and Kite of Kawelo.

The constellation Pisces (from Greek Ἰχθύες via Latin piscēs, “fishes”), behind which two other constellations position themselves, provides pretty night-lighting as it peregrinates the Komohana horizon.
The constellation Aries queues somewhat east of the constellation Pisces and somewhat west of the asterism Makalii (from Latin aries, “ram”; Hawaiian maka ali’i, “eyes/stars little”). The constellation Perseus (from Greek πέρθω, “to plunder” via Greek Περσεύς) perhaps reinforces the resplendence that Kawelo’s Kite end-star Iwakelii realizes during Hoolua-horizon residencies February 2025. Perhaps the constellation Auriga with its star Capella (from Latin aurīga; caper -ella, “goat little-she”) strengthens how the constellation Perseus and the star-line star Iwakelii shine.
February 2025 testifies to how much stars amid and around the star lines Makalii Bailer and Kite of Kawelo transfix galaxy-, moon-, planet-, star-lit Hawaii skies.
