Hotel Mango Hill Chicken Caesar Salad constructs the salad with two hard-boiled eggs; olive oil-fried croutons; iceberg lettuce leaves; two large, lengthwise-sliced, ripe tomatoes; four to five pitted, halved olives; shavings of Parmesan, or, alternatively, Gruyère, cheese; grilled boneless chicken breast slices. The dish's Vinaigrette Dressing is created with two garlic cloves, grated or minced; two tablespoons of lime juice; one teaspoon each of mustard paste and Worcestershire sauce; two tablespoons of mayonnaise (noted as an optional ingredient); one-third cup of olive oil; salt and pepper, according to taste; and, optionally, anchovies. The whisked dressing blends into the salad via tossing.

Hotel Mango Hill Chicken Caesar Salad derives from Caesar Salad. Italian immigrant restauranteur Cesare "Caesar" Cardini (Feb. 24, 1896-Nov. 3, 1956) introduced his elegantly simple salad in 1924 in his self-named restaurant in the resort city of Tijuana, located in northwestern Mexico's Baja California (Estado Libre y Soberano de Baja California; "Free and Sovereign State of Baja California"). Chef Cesare's original recipes tosses coddled eggs, garlic-toasted croutons, Parmesan cheese, romaine leaves and Worcestershire sauce. His original recipe bestows an anchovy flavor via Worcestershire sauce.

Classic Caesar Salad celebrates its 100th birthday in 2024. The recipe enjoys universal popularity and exists in non-vegetarian and vegetarian variations.

Hotel Mango Hill is located on Old Auroville Road in Bommayapalayam, a village between Auroville and Puducherry. The 36-room hotel is sited to the northeast of Auroville Botanical Gardens, founded in August 2000 as a conservation response to South India's disappearing Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest (TDEF). Hotel Mango Hill also enjoys proximity to such popular Bay of Bengal beaches as Auro Beach and Bommayapalayam Beach, to the northeast, and Auroville Beach, to the southeast.

Puducherry (Tamil: புதுச்சேரி) signifies "new town." The Tamil Nadu enclave of Puducherry (French: Pondichéry; English: Pondicherry) existed primarily (with short periods under Dutch and then British control) as a French colonial settlement from the late 17th-century until its de facto transfer Nov. 1, 1954, to the Republic of India (Bhārat Gaṇarājya) as part of the Union Territory of Puducherry. Pondicherry's capture Aug. 21, 1693, during the Nine Years' War (Sep. 27, 1688-Sep. 20, 1697) placed it under Dutch control until 1699. The commercial center's capture Jan. 16, 1761, placed it under British control until the conclusion of the Seven Years' War (May 17, 1756-Feb. 15, 1763). Pondicherry reverted to British control during the Siege of Pondicherry (Aug. 1-Aug. 23, 1793) and remained under British control until 1814.

Debarati Nandee Laederich describes herself in her Blogger profile as "a Bengali married to a French." Prior to settling in "Pondy," she held a corporate position in Bengaluru (Bangalore), Karnataka, southwestern India. Paris-born François Laederich has been chef and bartender since 2012 at Hotel Mango Hill, the boutique hotel started by his granduncle Oliver and his father Arnaud.

In 2019, their enchantment with the Himalayas inspired Debarati and her husband, François, to relocate to Northern India's Western Himalayan town of Mashobra, Shimla District, Himachal Pradesh state. In July, they opted for staying in Mashobra and establishing a quality artisanal cheese factory there. François returned to France for cheesemaking training in Aurillac, in southeast-central France's Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. François and Debarati opened Amiksa Cheese (Sanskrit: Sanskrit आमिक्षा, āmikṣā, "curds"), an artisanal cheesemaking factory with a souvenir shop, in Mashobra.
