Tristate Access Adds a Broadway Director to A Puzzle in a Pear Tree

Summary: Tristate access adds a Broadway director to a Bakerhaven pageant in A Puzzle in a Pear Tree, 3rd mystery in the Puzzle Lady series by Parnell Hal.

Tristate access adds a Broadway director to a Bakerhaven pageant in A Puzzle in a Pear Tree, 3rd mystery in the Puzzle Lady series by Parnell Hall (Oct. 31, 1934-Dec. 15, 2020).
Bakerhaven High School boasts a gym where basketball team members begin varsity practice at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT, 9:30 p.m., Greenwich Mean Time, GMT). Broadway stage director Rupert Winston commutes from his brick-chimneyed, green-shuttered, white-frame rental on Culvert Drive for a student-cast drama production and student- and town-cast Christmas pageantry. He does The Twelve Days of Christmas rehearsals on the gym stage even as music teacher Hodges designates room 127 among choral and singer practice rooms.
Art teacher Charlie Ferric enlists for Bakerhaven Village Green’s live Nativity cast members of Anton Chekhov’s (Jan. 29, 1860-July 15, 1904) The Seagull and the pageant.

Bakerhaven High and Bakerhaven Town Hall on Bakerhaven Village Green with Bakerhaven Congregational Church and Bakerhaven County Courthouse respectively furnish Nativity- and school-figured ladies’ dressing rooms.
Jonathon Doddsworth III of Scotland Yard goes from New Jersey-born and bred owner-operator Jerry Lynch’s Surf & Sun Motel to daughter Maxine’s Nativity and school performances. He heads to the respective houses that Bakerhaven Gazette reporter Aaron Grant habitates on Maple Street, beyond town limits, and that ex-wife Pamela has with Maxine. He perhaps itinerated, after memorial services at Bakerhaven Congregational Church on Main Street, to the three-story Colonial that Horace and Mindy Taggart inhabited with daughter Dorrie.
No Bakerhavenite apart a drama teacher and a policeman, no Manhattanite apart a Broadway director and no New Jerseyite apart a motel-keeper journey by tristate access.

Taggart money kindles constructing Bakerhaven Elementary School playground, Bakerhaven High’s memorial theater and science laboratory, Bakerhaven rec hall and Bakerhaven Visitors Center and renovating Town Hall.
Christmas pageantry and live Nativities lure puzzle lady Cora Felton’s niece Sherry Carter to highlighted curls at Bakerhaven beauty parlor and Aaron’s present at Bakerhaven mall. They perhaps motivate Mary, as Cushman's Bake Shop owner-operator, into moving baked munchies and hot coffee from Main Street to fellow pageant participants at Bakerhaven High. They net native Connecticuters such as Carl Perkins, who navigates by interstate and intrastate roads from Greenwich with wife Nancy and their sons Jed and Randy.
Tristate access occasions a Broadway director organizing two Manhattan stage-quality offerings, some of whose cast occupy the live Nativity, in A Puzzle in a Pear Tree.

One blowpipe from Larry Fishman’s Antiques Shop, one 2- by 4-inch (5.08- by 10.16-centimeter), one too many cyanide pills and five acrostics prompt three people perishing.
Perhaps as many Bakerhavenites queue up in Bakerhaven County Courthouse for arraignment proceedings as for caroling parades along Main Street and Nativity, pageant and play performances. The restricted resources of small-town Bakerhaven Police Station require Officer Dan Finley to run an evidence bag by New Haven and state lab fingerprinting analysis. Cora seeks sites straddling or subsumed within town limits such as Becky’s law office atop Bakerhaven pizza parlor and Doddsworth, Grant, Ridgewood, Taggart and Winston residences.
Tristate access tempts a Broadway director once, a motel-keeper perhaps, Cora, who typically travels between Bakerhaven and Manhattan, never in A Puzzle in a Pear Tree.

Perhaps Officer Dan Finley ambled over to Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science to ask its founding director, forensic scientist Henry Chang-Yu Lee (born Nov. 22, 1938), about fingerprint analysis before arriving at the Connecticut state lab in Meriden. Dr. Lee associated with the afore-mentioned lab in its iterations as Connecticut Crime Laboratory in Bethany; Connecticut State Police Forensic Science Laboratory in Bethany and then Meriden; and Connecticut Division of Scientific Services in Meriden; Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, 10:36, image of Henry Chang-Yu Lee's signature: tpehtlunion, CC BY SA 2.0 Generic, via Wikimedia Commons
