Huakai Po Nightmarchers Act Unlike Magnum's Killer on the Midnight Shift

Summary: Huakai po nightmarchers act according to spirit world arrangements, unlike Magnum's Killer on the Midnight Watch never avoiding serial killing Feb. 5, 2021.

The god most associated with the nightmarchers perhaps surprisingly is the god of procreation, Kane, not the god of war Ku; Kuka'ilimoku, or simply Ku, feather sculpture of the Hawaiian war god from the 18th century, on exhibit with the Cook/Forster Collection at the Georg August University of Gottingen, Lower Saxony, northwestern Germany: Lebrac, CC BY SA 3.0 Unported, via Wikimedia Commons

Huakai po nightmarchers act according to spirit world arrangements, unlike Magnum's Killer on the Night Shift crime action drama television series episode never avoiding any opportunity for serial killing Feb. 5, 2021.
Director Geoff Shotz and writer Gene Hong build Season Three's seventh episode, series 47th overall, around a neighborhood resident whose behavior bothers neighborhood watch group members. Hawaiian huakai po nightmarchers (from Hawaiian hua'ka'i, "procession" and pō, "night"), also called 'oi'o, congregate on certain paths on certain islands at certain times of night. The dark hours from just after sunset to just before sunrise draw deadly ghosts of dead ancient Hawaiian warriors who dwell in ancient Hawaiian burial sites.
Night-marching spirit ranks emerge other than during the last four Hawaiian moon phases only when they escort, during daylight hours, dying relatives to the spirit world.

Chiefs, chieftesses, kings and warriors fill night-marching, rarer day-marching spirit ranks that file to and from land or sea-floor battle and burial sites and sacred places.
All nightmarchers, all daymarchers gather in great groups as battle-dressed, normal-sized club-bearers, conch-shell blowers, spear-bearers, torch-bearers and war-drum beaters and as royal-dressed chiefs, chieftesses and kings. They have one marcher in front, another in back and three in the middle hold the hugest torches and honor three female and three male gods. The most important goddess is Hiiakaikapoliopele (from Hawaiian hi'i, "carry"; aka, "embryo"; i, "in"; ka, "the"; poli, "bosom"; o, "of"; pele, [sister and] volcano [goddess Pele]").
The Hawaiian huakai po nightmarchers journey least and most noisily when their chiefs, chieftesses, kings and priests judge silence more judicious than noise and vice versa.

Day-marching, night-marching spirit ranks keep their chiefs, chieftesses and kings approachable arriving or retreating in the middle, arriving in the front and retreating in the rear.
All marchers load into slings chiefs, chieftesses and kings loathe to walk and let loose hot, light-laden bolts against mortals who look at their sacred-bodied leaders. They mention the words "Na'u!" ("Mine!") when they march past mortal night-owl relatives and "O'i'o!" ("I throw the spear!") just before murdering a disrespectful night-owl mortal. Mortals need to hide or lie face-down if outdoors on nights of death-like, foul, musky odors; heavy fog, lightning, mist, rain and thunder; and high surf.
Po Akua, as the 14th night of the new moon, offers Hawaiian huakai po nightmarchers optimal observations of aumakua (from Hawaiian 'aumākua, "deified ancestors") guardian spirits.

Pō Kāne promoting procreation proves as popular as Pō Akua, more popular than Pō Kanaloa, Pō Kū and Pō Lono to underworld, war and agriculture gods.
Hanapepe, Kaua’i; Hokuni, Lāna'i; Hilo and Waipio, Hawai’i; Kahakuloa, Kekaa and La Perouse Bay, Maui; Kaunalakai, Moloka'i; and Davies Pacific Center, O’ahu qualify as nightmarcher sites. Diamond Head armory; Ka’a’awa, Kalāma, Makaha valleys; Ka’ena Point; Kaniakapūpū; Kapālama Kamehameha School; Kualoa Ranch; Lā’ie; Moanalua; Pali Highway; and Yokohama Bay reunite O'ahuan spirit ranks. Back and front doors in alignment and whistling summon day-marching, night-marching spirit ranks even as palm lily (ti locally, Cordyline fruticosa scientifically) shrubs scare them away.
Hawaiian huakai po nightmarchers, unlike the midnight watch serial killer, transmit no trace, apart incinerated or speared victims, as they travel without touching land or water.

If only it were as easy for Juliet Higgins (Perdita Weeks) and Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez) to keep away a serial killer as it is to scare away Hawaiian huakai po nightmarchers by hiding or lying face-down outdoors, particularly near palm lily (ti locally, Cordyline fruticosa scientifically), by not whistling indoors or outside or by staying inside buildings whose back and front doors are not in alignment: Fandom Of Magnum P.I.
