Hawaii Five-0's Ai No I Ka 'Ape He Mane'o No Ko Ka Nuku: Itchy Mouths

Summary: Hawaii Five-0's Ai No I Ka 'Ape He Mane'o No Ko Ka Nuku March 8, 2019, applies to fresh giant taro since He who eats 'ape is bound to have his mouth itch.

Hawaii Five-0's Ai No I Ka 'Ape He Mane'o No Ko Ka Nuku March 8, 2019, addresses domino theory-like advice that He who eats 'ape is bound to have his mouth itch.
Director Eagle Egilsson and writers Matt Wheeler and David Wolkove bare an 'ōlelo a'o (advice) about brash actions and aftereffects in the ninth season's 18th episode. The series' 211th episode casts Officers Junior Reigns (Beulah Koale) and Tani Rey (Meaghan Rath) undercover to catch gym-based dealers of deadly steroids with fitness-minded casualties. It deploys Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) and Detective Danny Williams (Scott Caan) to bodyguarding the latter's contentious ex-mother-in-law, romance novelist Amanda Savage (Joan Collins).
Eating Hawaiian 'ape giant taro only ensures irritated itching from mouths and tongues to digestive tracts without pre-cooking or pre-drying to eliminate needle-sharp crystals of calcium oxalate.

Hawaiian 'ape giant taro fits leafing, flowering, fruiting and seeding months into evergreen life cycles as subtropical and tropical flora that flourishes from fragments and seeds.
Shoots, two- to three-budded sections and suckers grow in 3.15 to 5.91-inch- (8- to 15-centimeter-) deep, 1.97- to 11.48-foot- (0.6- to 3.5-meter-) long and wide spaces. Their scarlet, semi-elliptical, 0.47-inch (12-millimeter) by 3.15-inch (8-centimeter) fruits have brown seeds germinable at 75.2 degrees Fahrenheit (24 degrees Celsius) into 400- to 600-day mature perennials. Green, semi-elliptical, semi-oblong, 3.15-inch (8-centimeter) spathes (from Greek σπάθη, spáthē, "blade") initiate fruiting from semi-oval, 5.12- to 13.78-inch- (13- to 35-centimeter-) long, 0.079-inch (2-millimeter) diameter spathes.
'Ape giant taro spathes juggle 4.13- to 11.42-inch (10.5- to 29-centimeter) spikes with 0.59-inch (1.5-centimeter) green female and white sterile and 0.78-plus-inch (2-plus-centimeter) white male flowers.

The Araceae (from Latin arum and -āceae, "resembling") family member knows 4.26-foot (1.3-meter) petiole and 8.53-foot (2.6-meter) sheath lengths and 3.94-foot (1.2-meter) by 1.64-foot (0.5-meter) blades.
'Ape giant taro, labeled Alocasia macrorrhizos (from Greek κολοκασία, kolokāsiā, "Egyptian water-lily rhizome"; μακρός, makrós, "long"; and ῥίζα, rhíza, "root"), lodges green, sometimes white-blotched, white-mottled foliage. It manifests 4.1- to 14.76-foot- (1.25- to 4.5-meter-) high main stems with 3- to 7.87-inch (7.62- to 20-centimeter) diameters dry, brown, husky and ringed when leafless. It nestles atop bulb-like corms (from Greek κορμός, kormós, "trunk stripped of its boughs") with cormel offshoots and extensive horizontally spreading, lateral roots divisible for propagation.
'Ape giant taro, observed by Carl Linnaeus (May 23, 1707-Jan. 10, 1778) and George Don (April 29, 1798-Feb. 25, 1856), offers edibility after cooking or drying.

Hawaiian 'ape giant taro from Malaysia through Indian and Pacific Ocean islands provides anti-fever wraps with ti leaves, anti-itching stem juices and soupy, stewed stem vegetables.
Hawaiian 'ape giant taro qualifies as one of the canoe plants that ancient Polynesians queued up for Hawaiian and Pacific island settlement quests 1,500-plus years ago. It requires well-composted, well-drained, wind-sheltered soils, with deep, light or no woodland shade and pHs between 5 and 7.3, through 3,280.84-foot (1,000-meter) altitudes above sea level. It survives 78.74- to 165.35-inch (2,000- to 4,200-millimeter) mean annual rainfall and somewhat shaded temperatures between 50 and 89.6 degrees Fahrenheit (10 and 32 degrees Celsius).
Hawaiian 'ape giant taro tenders for Hawaii Five-0 task force members' indoor and outdoor gardens antidotes, dyes and, when pre-cooked or pre-dried, soup and stew vegetables.
