Welcome to Paradise on Magnum PI Maybe Admits Akaakai Hawaiian Bulrush

Summary: Welcome to Paradise, season 5 episode 5 Thursday, June 29, 2023, on action drama television series Magnum PI, maybe admits akaakai Hawaiian bulrush.

"God talks to human beings through many vectors: through each other, through organized religion, through the great books of those religions, through wise people, through art and music and literature and poetry, but nowhere with such detail and grace and color and joy as through creation. When we destroy a species, when we destroy a special place, we're diminishing our capacity to sense the divine, understand who God is and what our own potential is." Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., April 19, 2023, Boston Park Plaza Hotel, Back Bay, Boston, Massachusetts.

Akaakai ('aka'akai locally; common club-rush, gray club-rush, giant bulrush, great bulrush, lakeshore bulrush, soft-stem bulrush commonly; Schoenoplectus lacustria scientifically) Hawaiian bulrush abides naturally on Hawaii, Kauai, Molokai, Niihau and Oahu (from Hawaiian ha wai 'i, "breath life-force supreme"; kaua'i, "place around one's neck"; moloka'i, "[land of] gathering waters"; ni'ihau; o'ahu, "gathering place"). It abounds in maximal 50- to 100-plus-inch (1,270- to 2,540-plus-millimeter) precipitation and sunny temperatures above minus 13 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 25 degrees Celsius). Spacing under 1- to 3-foot (0.31- to 0.91-meter) widths sometimes abridges its rhizomes (from Greek ῥίζα -ωμα, "root mass"), underground stems with root and shoot achievements. Its dull green stems accommodate gray-green-white, 0.59-inch (1.5-centimeter) diameter leaves and leaf-end brown flowers with many egg-shaped spikelets; "A. Schirpe des lacs. Scirpus lacustris L. B. Scirpe sétacé. Scirpus setaceus L," Plate 360, in A. (Amédée) Masclef, Atlas des Plantes de France Utiles, Nuisibles et Ornementales. Welcome to Paradise, season 5 episode 5 debuted Sunday, March 12, 2023, rerun Sunday, May 14, and Thursday, June 29, on action drama television series Magnum PI, maybe admits akaakai Hawaiian bulrush.
The 81st episode overall, as the fifth Magnum episode for NBC television season 2022-2023, bares human death by waterboarding and drowning and canine death by poisoning. Akaakai Hawaiian bulrush, countermeasure to high-nitrogen coastal and inland, fresh and sea waters, counts as a configuration contrary to the above-mentioned personal crises and professional catastrophes. Tracheophyte and Angiosperm (from Greek τραχεῖα ἀρτηρία φυτά, “windpipe plant”; ἀγγεῖον σπέρμα, “container seed”) cladeship displays mineral water-domiciling xylem (from Greek ξύλον, “wood[y-tissue]”) and fruit-dwelling seeds.
Monocot (from Greek μόνος κοτυληδών, “single cup-shaped cavity") clade membership, as grass and grass-like monocotyledon, evolves one embryonic leaf into the germinated seed’s first basal leaf.

Commelinid (from Latin Commelina, for Jan [April 23, 1629-Jan. 19, 1692] and Caspar [Oct. 14, 1668-Dec. 25, 1731] Commelijn) cladeship features UV-fluorescent ferulic acid-flooded cell walls.
Poales (from Greek πόα, “fodder”; and Latin -ālis, “regarding”) membership grants bract-enclosed inflorescences (from Latin flōrēō, “I flower” via Latin inflōrēscens -tia,"beginning to flower -hood, -ship"). Cyperaceae (from Greek κύπειρος, “galingale [Cyperus longus]” and Latin -āceae, “resembling”) sedge family membership heralds leaves spirally housed in three ranks and stems having triangular cross-sections. Schoenoplectus (from Egyptian i͗trw, “river-measure” via Greek σχοίνος, “rush-rope”; Greek πλέκω via Latin plecto, “I braid”) genus-ship involves plait-able culms (from Latin culmus, “[grass] stalk, stem”).
Akaakai Hawaiian bulrush perhaps joins other water-margin plants around the Captain Buck Greene (James Remar) body-dumping site in Welcome to Paradise, Now Die! on Magnum PI.

Akaakai Hawaiian bulrush acts culinarily as cooked, dried or fresh vegetable and as ground flour for baking or ground powder for syrup; (third row left) Figure 19. Bull-rush (Schoenoplectus lacustris; under synonym of Scirpus lacustris), Plate II, in Rev. Wiliam Bingley, Useful Knowledge: or a Familiar Account of the Various Productions of Nature, Mineral, Vegetable, and Animal, which are Chiefly Employed for the Use of Man. Lacustris (from Latin lacustris, “[relating to] lake”) species membership kindles stems with round cross-sections, unlike Schoenoplectus pungens three-square and triqueter triangular club-rush species with rounded-triangular stems.
The bulrush looked at taxonomically by Carl Linnaeus (May 23, 1707-Jan. 10, 1778) and by Eduard Palla (Sep. 3, 1864-March 7, 1922) lodges 0.09-inch (2.2-millimeter) seeds. Three to 10 3.9-inch- (10-centimeter-) long stem-top branches manifest bract-based, flowering, 0.24- to 0.59-inch- (6- to 15-millimeter) long, 0.12- to 0.20-inch- (3.05- to 5.08-millimeter-) wide spikelets. The bulrush locally named ‘aka‘akai, kaluhā, naku, neki and nānaku nestles into brackish-, fresh- and salt-water marshy, sunlit wetlands from sea level to 4,999-foot (1,523.69-meter) altitudes.
Akaakai Hawaiian bulrush offers Welcome to Paradise, Now Die! on Magnum PI phytoremediation (from Greek φῠτόν, “plant” via φύω, “I generate”; Latin remediātiō, “healing” via remediāre).

Brown-red, egg-shaped florets (from Latin flōs -ettus, “flower-let”) prettify bladeless and 39-inch- (100-centimeter-) long bladed gray-green-white leaves on 0.20- to 0.59-inch- (5- to 15-millimeter-) thick stems.
The 2.5- to 10-foot (0.76- to 3.05-meter) by 3.28- to 8-foot (1- to 2.44-meter) groundcover, hedge, screen, water feature quests shallow to 11.81-foot- (30-centimeter-) deep water. Lightweight, pithy, stalk-residing, white aerenchyma (from Greek ᾱ̓ήρ ἔγχυμα, “air infusion” via Latin āēr -enchyma) renders common gray club-rush and giant, great, lakeshore, soft-stem bulrush buoyant. The wind-pollinated hermaphrodite (from Greek Ἑρμῆς Ἀφροδίτη, “Hermes Aphrodite” via [one-bodied female male] Ἑρμαφρόδιτος) survives acidic, neutral or alkaline, cinder, clayey, organic or sandy, poor-draining soils.
Toxic terminations, such as tortured bodies tainting coastlines, on Welcome to Paradise, Now Die! on Magnum PI, trigger high-nitrogen waters that akakai Hawaiian bulrush phytoremediatingly thwarts.

The plants have unbranched, slender, dark green spongy stems, three to nine feet high, with basal diameters as great as one inch. The stems are erect, rising from a strong, creeping underground stem. There are a few short, leaflike sheaths at the bases of the stems. When not in flower, this sedge looks like a giant onion plant. When in flower, the stems bear pointed leaflike bracts at their tips; this subtends a 'head' consisting of a compound cluster of reddish brown flowers. The latter are stemless or are borne on stems about 2-1/2 inches long. Individual flowers are minute and have six minute, spiny bristles."
