Dall Sheep Awe Denali, July Place on Audubon Arctic Wall Calendar 2022

Summary: Dall sheep awe Denali, July place on Audubon Arctic Wall Calendar 2022 whereby the National Audubon Society accentuates Arctic, near-Arctic North America.

"God talks to human beings through many vectors: through each other, through organized religion, through the great books of those religions, through wise people, through art and music and literature and poetry, but nowhere with such detail and grace and color and joy as through creation. When we destroy a species, when we destroy a special place, we're diminishing our capacity to sense the divine, understand who God is and what our own potential is." Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., April 19, 2023, Boston Park Plaza Hotel, Back Bay, Boston, Massachusetts.

Of the two species of native North American wild sheep, Dall sheep (Ovis dalli) and Rocky Mountain Bighorn sheep (Ovis montana), John James Audubon portraited only Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep; "Ovis Montana, Desm., Rocky Mountain Sheep Male & Female," Drawn from Nature by J.J. Audubon ; Lith'd Print'd & Col'd by J.T. Bowen, Philad'a, 1845; John James Audubon, The viviparous quadrupeds of North America, vol. Dall sheep awe Denali, July place on Audubon Arctic Wall Calendar 2022 whereby the National Audubon Society accentuates Arctic, near-Arctic North America and that continent’s base-to-peak tallest, 20,310-foot- (6,190-meter-) high mountain peak.
The Artiodactyla (from Greek ἄρτιος, “even” and δάκτυλος, “finger”) even-toed ungulate order member breeds from mid-November through mid-December and births from late May through early June. The Bovidae (from Latin bōs, “bull, cow, ox” and Greek -ειδής, “resembling” via Latin -idæ) antelope, bison, buffalo, caprine, cattle family member clusters in tundra countrysides. The Caprinae (from Latin capr-, “male goat” and -īnus, “of” via Latin caprīnus) antelope, caprine, goat, ruminant subfamily member desires rocky-ledged summers and south-facing wintry slopes.
The Ovibovini (from Latin ovis, “sheep”; bōs, “cow, ox”; -īnus, “of”) goat and sheep tribe member elects alpine, rough-terrain, summer and dry, lower-lying, open winter slopes.

Interior stretches of central, northern and central Alaska, of northwestern Canada's Yukon Territory and Northwest Territories and of southwestern Canada's British Columbia Province and Alberta Province amount to areas amicable -- apart predatory bears, coyotes, golden eagles, lynx, people, wolverines and wolves -- to Dall sheep; May 2008 map of range of Dall sheep in North America, based upon data from Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History's North American Mammals: Christophe cagé, CC BY SA 3.0 Unported, via Wikimedia Commons

Ovis dalli (from Latin ovis, “sheep”; for William Healey Dall [Aug. 21, 1845-March 27, 1927]) features nominate Ovis dalli dalli and second-named Ovis dalli stonei subspecies.
Edward William Nelson (May 8, 1855-May 19, 1934) and Joel Asaph Allen (July 19, 1838-Aug. 29, 1921) respectively gauged Dall sheep and Stone (Mountain) sheep taxonomically. The dark-tailed Stone’s sheep has azure-tinged, brown-gray to gray-white or white pelage (coat, from French poil, “body hair, brush bristle” and -age, “-ing” via pelage, “fur”). Darker-coated stone sheep impart white insides to brown-gray hind legs and white-patched rumps even as gray-white or white Stone’s sheep include dark-topped gray-white or white tails.
Dall sheep and Stone's sheep respectively journey through Denali, July place on Audubon Arctic Wall Calendar 2022, and western Canada’s Yukon Territory and British Columbia Province.

Autumn, breeding, midwinter, late winter and spring, salt-lick and summer seasonal home ranges anchor ram Dall sheet even as Dall sheep ewes angle through winter, spring, lambing and summer seasonal ranges. Breeding seasons from mid-November through mid-December announce newborn lambs from late May through early June. Lambs anticipate maternal and paternal seasonal ranges as their own, even as children anticipate maternal and paternal property; Thursday, May 22, 2008, 22:25:06-07, image of "ewe and lamb group in Denali National Park," Denali Borough and Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Interior Alaska: National Park Service, Alaska Region (AlaskaNPS), Public Domain, via Flickr

Fourteen-year life cycles and expectancies kindle for Dall sheep, also known as thinhorn sheep, 173- to 175-day gestations, 4- to 5-month nursing schedules and October weanings.
One Dall lamb, sometimes twin newborns, log 105.82- to 141.09-ounce (3- to 4-kilogram) birth weights, standing within 15 to 32 minutes and traveling within 24 hours. Nine-month-old lambs manifest 952.39- to 1,058.22-ounce (27- to 30-kilogram) weights even as 18- to 30-month-old females and 18- to 36-month-old males muster physical and sexual maturity. Dall sheep nourish themselves on dwarf willow; forbs such as cinquefoil, clover and pasture sage; grasses such as bluegrass, fescue and wheatgrass; lichens; mosses; and sedges.
Polychrome Pass offers to Denali, July place on Audubon Arctic Wall Calendar 2022, Dall sheep, who likewise occupy Alberta, British Columbia, Northwest Territories and Yukon Territory.

Fifty to 120 plant species appeal to Dall sheep, who perhaps appreciate 10 to 15 species in any one year. They approach calcium magnesium and calcium phosphate-concentrated mineral licks during spring and summer months. They approve dwarf willow; forbs such as cinquefoil (Potentilla), clover (Trifolium), lupine (Lupinus), pasture sage (Artemisia frigida) and peavine (Lathyrus); grasses such as bluegrass (Bouteloua gracilis), fescue (Festuca) and wheatgrass (Triticum aestivum); lichens; mosses (Bryophyta); and sedges (Carex); Tuesday, May 15, 2012, 19:04, image of "Dall sheep eating dried vegetation," Denali National Park and Preserve, Denali Borough (Latitude: 63.3182792663574, Longitude: -150.602905273438), Interior Alaska; photo credit Jacob W. Left-jaw, right-jaw, 32-tooth dentitions of 0 upper/3 lower incisors, 0 upper/1 lower canine, 3 upper/3 lower premolars and 3 upper/3 lower molars sometimes petrifies their predators.
Mature females quarter 4.3- to 5.3-foot- (1.31- to 1.62-meter-) long, 126- to 150-pound (57.15- to 68.04-kilogram) bodies with 3- to 3.9-inch- (7.62- to 9.91-centimeter-) long tails. Northern-race males reveal 4.5- to 5-foot- (1.37- to 1.52-meter-) long, 165- to 198-pound (74.84- to 89.81-kilogram) bodies with 3.5- to 4.5-inch- (8.89- to 11.43-centimeter-) long tails. Southern-race males secure 4.3- to 5.8-foot- (1.31- to 1.77-meter-) long, 200- to 250-pound (90.72- to 113.39-kilogram) bodies with 3- to 4.3-inch- (7.62- to 10.92-centimeter-) long tails.
Predatory bears, coyotes, golden eagles, lynx, people, wolverines and wolves sometimes terminate, sometimes terrorize Dall sheep of Denali, July place on Audubon Arctic Wall Calendar 2022.

Southern-race stone sheep, stone sheep and Stone's sheep of western Canada's British Columbia Province are the second-named of two subspecies, Ovis dalli dalli and Ovis dalli stonei, of thinhorn, northern-race Dall sheep. They attract attention with their azure-tinged, brown-gray bodies with white insides of hind legs and white-patched rumps and with their azure-tinged brown-gray heads with white foreheads and muzzles; Friday, Sep. 2, 2005, 00:00, image of Stone's sheep (Ovis dalli stonei), British Columbia Province, western Canada: Joseph N Hall (Joe n bloe), Public Domain, via Wikimedia Commons
