Yellow-bellied sea snakes, on land during hurricanes, perhaps ape a bit, a bit not, two hostiles on Magnum’s The Day Danger Walked In crime action drama television series episode Jan. 15, 2021.
Director Krishna Rao and writers Eric Guggenheim and Peter Lenkov bundle private investigator Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez) into Rick Wright’s (Zachary Knighton) bar during bad weather. Season Three's fifth episode, series' 35th episode overall, commemorates the 1948-released film Key Largo, albeit in a Florida hotel, in clustering two criminals with cautious civilians. Yesternight’s fictitious drenching, like such heavy, offshore, windy downpours as Hurricane Dot Aug. 1-8, 1959, and Hurricane Douglas July 20-28, 2020, sometimes drive sea animals landward.
Yellow-bellied snakes endeavor to encounter shelter, such as La Mariana (from Spanish la, “the” and Mariana, “Marion”), when execrable weather ejects them from Pacific Ocean waters.

Two- to 3.5-year pelagic (open sea [versus coastal or inland waters], from Greek πέλᾰγος, “sea”) life cycles furnish yellow-belled sea snakes egg, hatchling and mature stages..
Physically and sexually mature females generate one to 10 ovoviviparous (from Latin ovum, “egg”; vīvus, “alive”; pariō “I give birth”) hatchlings after five- to eight-month gestations. Eggs inside the mother’s body after warm-water mating in temperatures above 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius) hatch 8.66- to 10.24-inch- (220- to 260-millimeter-) long young. Mother yellow-bellied sea snakes, also identified locally as pelagic and yellowbelly sea snakes, itinerate through mangrove swamps, open oceans and rocky tidal pools with their young.
Yellow-bellied sea snakes, judged taxonomically in 1766 by Carl Linnaeus (May 23, 1707-Jan. 10, 1778), journey at 0.19- to 4.41-mile (0.3- to 7.1-kilometer) speeds per hour.

Live birth kindles immediate knowledge of eel and fish prey by the Elapidae (from Greek ἔλαψ, "fish, serpent" and εἶδος, "resemblance") sea snake family newborn member.
Sea serpents, labeled Hydrophis platurus (from Greek ὕδωρ, “water” and ὄφις, “serpent”; and πλατύς, "flat" and ουρά, "tail"), look for surface-lying freshwater left by heavy rainfall. Paddle-shaped, side-compressed tails and side-compressed bodies moving sidewards master backward and forward swims; 49.21-foot (15-meter) average and 164.04-foot (50-meter) maximum descents; four-hour dives; and 24-hour submersions. Twelve nestle into calm-water, prey-netting, 10.76-square-foot (1-square-meter) debris-floating driftlines, 0.62 to 12.43 miles (1 to 20 kilometers) offshore and 3.11 miles (5 kilometers) from river mouths.
Ousting skins overgrown with barnacle, crab, fish, sea squirt, shrimp and snail colonies obliges yellow-bellied sea snakes to knot their bodies every nine to 43 days.

Dark-backed, light-bellied, dark- and light-tailed two-year-old females and males respectively possess 28.35-inch- (720-millimeter-) and 34.64-inch- (880-millimeter-) long bodies and 3.15-inch- (80-millimeter-) and 3.54-inch- (90-millimeter-) long tails.
High-set, valved nostrils; flattened, long-snouted, narrow, triangular heads; body-long lungs; blood vessel-rich, exposed skin; knob-like, small, tractionless scales queue up on all ages and both genders. Mouth-floor glands and oxygen-reaping semi-permeable skin remove salt and carbon dioxide while pressure-sensitive, vibration-tracking oral organs and 0.08-inch- (2-millimeter-) long upper-jaw fangs recognize prey and predators. Yellow-bellied sea snake venom isotoxins and neurotoxins sentence untreated human victims to neuromuscular damage and paralysis, kidney failure and respiratory failure within 12 to 48 hours.
Rick Wright (Zachary Knighton) treats bites from yellow-bellied sea snakes tossed in by tough waves and weather with beaked sea snake (Enhydrina schistosa) and polyvalent anti-venoms.

Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez), Juliet Higgins (Perdita Weeks), Kumu (Amy Hill) and Shammy (Christopher Thornton) are in a hostage situation at Orville "Rick" Wright's tiki bar, La Mariana, in Magnum P.I.'s The Day Danger Walked In (season 3 episode 5), that is reminiscent of two Humphrey Bogart (Dec. 25, 1899-Jan. 14, 1957) films, The Petrified Forest (1936) and Key Largo (1948): SpoilerTV @SpoilerTV, via Twitter Jan. 4, 2021
