Daily Activities Allay Seasons by the Lake by Naja Lund Aparico

Summary: Daily activities allay Seasons by the Lake: Adventures in Greenland by author by Naja Lund Aparico and illustrator Alex Nees for Dial Books March 17, 2026.

"God talks to human beings through many vectors: through each other, through organized religion, through the great books of those religions, through wise people, through art and music and literature and poetry, but nowhere with such detail and grace and color and joy as through creation. When we destroy a species, when we destroy a special place, we're diminishing our capacity to sense the divine, understand who God is and what our own potential is." Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., April 19, 2023, Boston Park Plaza Hotel, Back Bay, Boston, Massachusetts.

“And there’s many people out there who want us to move to the next planet already and I’m like, hang on, let’s not give up on this planet yet," William, Prince of Wales, July 31, 2023, Sorted Food food truck, London, England, United Kingdom.

Daily activities allay Seasons by the Lake: Adventures in Greenland by author by Naja Lund Aparico and illustrator Alex Nees for Dial Books for Young Readers, Penguin Random House, March 17, 2026.
The first, spring activity bears the brothers Minik and Nuka and their dog Nanoq outdoors even as it rings two Arctic hares and three snow buntings. Elder-brother Minik carries a handled, metal container from the back porch even as canine-companion Nanoq and younger-brother Minik perhaps chaperone one another to the lake-beach collectibles. The fraternal duo deposit an ice-blue glacier shard from beach-dwelling ice slabs in their pail even as mountain-declivity gravity from inland Greenland drives multi-thousand-year-old glaciers beachward.
At least one blue-embellished clear glass of perhaps drinkable water ensues from the afore-encountered shard even as perhaps that melt enables the subsequently-enjoyed, winter-evidenced dinner drinks.

The second, summertime activity features Minik, Nanoq, Nuka respectively atop two boulders in buttercup-filled meadows along boulder piles at lake- or mountain-snow melt-fostered waterfall-formed flowing water.
The dog Nanoq goes after an Arctic butterfly even as an Arctic-hare mother guarding three bunnies and Arctic char gaze respectively from stream shores and bottoms. Nuka holds a fishing pole whose line end has a black-and-white-streaked, red-bellied Arctic char even as perhaps grandmother Aanaa honors that first catch in homemade meals. The third, summertime activity involves grandmother Aanaa itinerating Arctic crowberries from their lakeside inhabitations even as Nuka ingests crowberries intended for his and Minik's berry bowls.
Two summer-journeying females, perhaps as shorter-haired mother, longer-haired daughter, jubilate Seasons by the Lake: Adventures in Greenland by author Naja Lund Aparico and illustator Alex Nees.

A young male, perhaps respective son and sibling to the two females, knows of their campfire and their tent as keeping them all fed and rested.
A man, left arm lodging a sleeping lad, perhaps links to that trio even as he laughs, with Minik's and Nuka's mother, about a beach ball. Their fourth, fall activity manifests younger-brother Nuka managing a sled ride into a frozen-creek or frozen-puddle snowbank even as Minik and Nanoq, with their sled, monitor. A fifth, fall activity niches the living room even as that family night nurtures grandmother, Minik, mother, Nanoq, Nuka respectively book-reading, skates-cleaning, knitting, drawing book-nosing, lake-watching.
Author Naja Lund Aparico and illustrator Alex Nees observe in Seasons by the Lake: Adventures in Greenland Minik, perhaps Nanoq, Nuka snow-angeling a sixth, winter activity.

Seventh and eighth winter activities predicate the North Star as Qaasuitsup Ulloria ("the-place-where-the-sun-does-not-rise its-star") even as they presume Northern Lights as rustling, soccer-playing, whistling Arsarnerit ancestors.
Dining and kitchen quarters queue a ninth, winter activity even as Minik's and Nuka's grandmother and mother respectively culinarily quest caribou stew and, perhaps glacier-melted, water. A tenth, winter activity realizes brothers Minik and Nuka relocating from their residence's outerwear room to the frozen lake even as Nanoq runs around them skating. An eleventh, spring activity sallies Minik, Nanoq and Nuka to the lake shore even as Arctic hare, grandmother, mother and snow-bunting duo survey their safety there.
Author Naja Lund Aparico and illustrator Alex Nees transmit teachable-moment times through Seasons by the Lake: Adventures in Greenland even as such times treasure cultural traditions.
