Elementary's Fit to Be Tied: Free of Pink Slime and White Water Molds?

Baquacil alleviates anxieties over actual motives, perpetrators and venues in addition to pink slime and white water molds in the Elementary procedural drama series episode Fit to Be Tied Sept. 10, 2018.

Director Ron Fortunato and writers Robert Doherty, Jason Tracey and Kelly Wheeler bring pool-cleaning alternatives to bromine, chlorine, ionizers and salt into Season 6's 20th episode. The series' 140th episode overall never compares or critiques Baquacil, bromine, chlorine, ionizers or salt since strangulation, not pool chemicals or infestations, causes Rachel Garner's death. Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) declares, "It's [Baquacil] not as common as chlorine or salt, but there's a faint odor of it in her [Rachel's] hair."

Sherlock explains that "It's a chemical used for sanitizing swimming pools" even though its employment in Season 6's next-to-last episode possibly extends Baquacil to hot tubs.

The animal kingdom member furnishes the Enterobacteriaceae (from the Greek ἐντερον, énteron, "intestine" and βακτήριον, backtérion, "small staff") family with Serratia marescens ("[Serafino] Serrati's decaying [pigment]").

Padua's slime-reddened polenta (cornmeal mush) in 1819 and Serrati's unrelated steamboat experiments in 1795 generated Bartolomeo Bizio's (Oct. 30, 1791-Sept. 2, 1862) scientific name in 1823. Nowadays pink slime harries darker, moister, phosphorus-rich facilities and fixtures and the eyes, gastrointestinal, nervous and respiratory systems, hearts and urinary tracts of immune system-compromised patients. It inspires infected wounds; orange-red teeth and pink-reddened eyelids and tear ducts; and orange, pink, pink-orange and pink-red biofilm in bathrooms, kitchens, laundries, pools and whirlpools.

Pink slime jeopardizes clean, clear-watered bathroom basins, bowls, showers and tubs; sanitary kitchen, laundry and utility sinks; and sparkling counter, floor and wall fixtures and tiles.

Pink slime keeps pool brushes, filters, floats, floors, hoses, impellers, jets, ladders, lines, nozzles, piping, plastics, rails, sides, skimmers, solar blankets, steps, toys and vacuums untouchable.

Overlapping distribution ranges and life cycles link pink slime and white water molds, non-bacterial, unrelated oomycetes (from the Greek ᾠόν, ōon, "egg" and μύκης, múkēs, "mushroom"). The Saprolegniaceae (from the Greek σαπρός, saprós, "putrid" and λέγων, legnon, "border") freshwater mold family member moves like tissue paper and white mucous over pool surfaces. White water molds, named scientifically in 1823 by Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck (Feb. 14, 1776-March 16, 1858), need darker, moister, pink slime-like pool niches.

Necrophytic and saprophytic (from the Greek νεκρός, nekrós, "corpse"; σαπρός, saprós, "putrid"; φυτόν, phutón, "plant") white water molds overlap with dead, dying and injured food sources.

White water molds proliferate in alkaline pH levels between 7.6 and 8.0-plus and in temperatures between 37.4 and 91.4 degrees Fahrenheit (3 and 33 degrees Celsius).

Pink slime, indiscernible outside pigmented, prodigiosin (from the Latin prōdigiōsus, "prodigious") stages, and white water molds queue up treatment schedules that quell major, not minor, repetitions. They require basins, bowls, showers, sinks and tubs irregularly sanitized and scrubbed and slow-flow pools and whirlpools irregularly brushed, filtered and vacuumed and shaded 18 hours. They never survive 1- to 3-part chlorine or salt, 3- to 5-part bromine, 100- to 150-part alkalinity or 175- to 275-part calcium hardness levels per million.

Sherlock rarely and Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) sometimes tidy their bathroom and kitchen, where pink slime and white water molds potentially threaten Clyde the Russian tortoise.
