Summary: A galaxy, a moon, planets, stars abide along with two star lines in dark skies above Hilo, Big Island, Hawaii County, Hawaii state January 2025.
"God talks to human beings through many vectors: through each other, through organized religion, through the great books of those religions, through wise people, through art and music and literature and poetry, but nowhere with such detail and grace and color and joy as through creation. When we destroy a species, when we destroy a special place, we're diminishing our capacity to sense the divine, understand who God is and what our own potential is." Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., April 19, 2023, Boston Park Plaza Hotel, Back Bay, Boston, Massachusetts.
“And there’s many people out there who want us to move to the next planet already and I’m like, hang on, let’s not give up on this planet yet," William, Prince of Wales, July 31, 2023, Sorted Food food truck, London, England, United Kingdom.
A galaxy, a moon, planets, stars abide along with two star lines, also acknowledged as ancient navigational star families, in dark skies above Hilo, Big Island, Hawaii County, Hawaii state January 2025.
Beautiful brilliance brightens the before-bedtime slot 8:00-10:00 p.m. Hawaii-Aleutian (4:00-6:00 Chamorro, 7:00-9:00 Samoa, 9:00-11:00 Alaska, 10:00-midnight Pacific, 11:00-1:00 Mountain, midnight-2:00 next-day Central, 1:00-3:00 Eastern, 2:00-4:00 Atlantic). The afore-cherished galaxy, camped from Hoolua through Malanai horizons, respectively celebrates the Unitedstatesian English- and the Hawaiian-created choices Andromeda and either Anakolomeka accentless or ‘Anakolomeka accented. That dark-sky drawbridge domiciles off the Hoolua (from Hawaiian ho’olua, “muscular, rough, strong [north(-west) wind]”) horizon the M- or the W-drawn constellation Cassiopeia (from Greek Κασσιόπη).
Andromeda galaxy embraces southeasterly toward the Malanai (from Hawaiian malanai, “[southeast-horizon] gentle breeze”) horizon the constellation Perseus, the planet Jupiter, the constellations Taurus, Orion, Canis Major.
Perseus (Hawaiianized Ānui), Jupiter (Hawaiianized Ikaika, “strong”) and Taurus (from Greek πέρθω, “to ravage” via Περσεύς; Greek Ταῦρος, “Crimean” via Latin taurus, “bull”) figure star lines-free.
No star lines guard Orion (from Akkadian Uru-anna, “heaven’s-light”? via Greek Ὠρῑ́ων, Latin Ōrīōn; Hawaiianized ka hei-hei o nā keiki, “the cat’s cradle of the children”). The constellation Taurus has Aldebaran (from Arabic اَلدَّبَرَان, “the follower” Hawaiianized Kapuahi, from ka puahi, “the fireplace”) even as the constellation Kaheiheionākeiki has Betelgeuse and Rigel. Supergiant Betelgeuse (from Arabic يَد الجَوْزَاء, “hand of the central one” Hawaiianized Kauluakoko, from kaulua koko, “two-natured rainbow-hued”) is impressively red, hotter than impressively orange-red Aldebaran.
Blue supergiant Rigel (from Arabic رِجْل, “[the-great-one’s] foot, leg” Hawaiianized Puana kau, “blossom suspended”) joins the galaxy, moon, planets, stars journeying above Hilo, Hawaii January 2025.
Andromeda galaxy keepsakes Canis Major (from Greek κύων, "dog" via Latin canis maior, "dog greater"), whose star Sirius the Makalii Bailer star line knows as Aa.
Kekaomakalii lodges as next-last southeastern-horizoned star Sirius (from Hawaiian ke kā o maka li’i, “the canoe-bailer of [eyes/stars-little =] Pleiades”; Greek σείριος, “scorching” Hawaiianized ‘a’ā, “bright-burning”). Canis Major moves southeast of Canis Minor (from Greek κύων, "dog" via Latin canis minor, "dog lesser"; Hawaiianized Mū, from legendary banana-eating people of Lā’au-haele-mai, Kaua’i). Hikina-horizoned constellation Leo-niched star Regulus neighbors Mars (from Hawaiian hikina, “east”; Latin rēgulus, “kinglet” Hawaiianized Ikiiki, “hot-humid”; Greek λέων, “lion” via Latin leō; Hawaiian Hōkū’ula, “star-red”).
A galaxy, our moon, planets, stars above Hilo, Hawaii January 2025 offer Akau horizon Polaris (from Greek πόλος, “rotation-axis” via Latin polus[-]āris, “pole-pertaining”) in Ursa Minor.
Polaris Hawaiianized Hokupaa southwesterly presages Ursa Major’s Big Dipper Hawaiianized Nahiku (Hawaiian hōkū pa’a, “star immovable”; Latin ursus major/minor, “bear greater/lesser”; Hawaiian nā hiku, “the seven”).
Hema and Kona horizons respectively quarter Achernar (from Hawaiian hema, “left [of-west-ensconced] sun, south”; kona, “[southwest-horizon] windward”; Arabic آخِر النَهْر, "end of the river”) and Cetus. The star Achernar resides in the constellation Eridanus south of Cetus (from Greek ῥέω, “I flow, run” via Latin Eridanus; Greek κῆτος, “huge fish, sea monster”). The latter Hawaiianized Kohola shines south of Komohana-horizoned Pisces, Saturn and Venus (Hawaiian koholā, “humpback whale”; Hawaiian komo, “west [where sun] enters [sea]”; Latin piscēs, “fishes”).
A galaxy, our Moon, aligned planetary sextet Mercury, Venus Hawaiianized Hōkū[-]le’a (“star-clear/glad”), Mars, Jupiter, Saturn Hawaiianized Makulu (“water-drop”), Uranus and stars transfix Hilo, Hawaii January 2025.

The Andromeda galaxy (Hawaiianized ‘Anakolomeka) eveningly, nightly aestheticizes dark skies above Hilo, Hawaii January 2025. Its spatial arrangement with our Milky Way (Hawaiianized I'a, from Hawaiian i'a, "fish") avoids anything aggressive for another 4.5 billion years;
