Peril at End House, Not Death at the Sanatorium, Adds a Nameless Title

Summary: Peril at End House by Agatha Christie, not Death at the Sanatorium by Ragnar Jónasson, adds a nameless title for something real among fictional people.

"God talks to human beings through many vectors: through each other, through organized religion, through the great books of those religions, through wise people, through art and music and literature and poetry, but nowhere with such detail and grace and color and joy as through creation. When we destroy a species, when we destroy a special place, we're diminishing our capacity to sense the divine, understand who God is and what our own potential is." Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., April 19, 2023, Boston Park Plaza Hotel, Back Bay, Boston, Massachusetts.

“And there’s many people out there who want us to move to the next planet already and I’m like, hang on, let’s not give up on this planet yet," William, Prince of Wales, July 31, 2023, Sorted Food food truck, London, England, United Kingdom.

Agatha Christie (Monday, Sep. 15, 1890-Monday, Jan. 12, 1976), in her detectivist Peril at End House (copyrighted 1931-1932) acquaints us with the actual Cornish Riviera at the fictional St. Loo and with the actual Great Western Railway through the fictional London Express; Great Western Railway poster with colored lithograph of "Cornish Riviera" by English landscape artisti Louis Burleigh Bruhl (July 20, 1861-1942), published 1928: Public Domain, via Wikimedia Commons

Peril at End House by Agatha Christie (Monday, Sep. 15, 1890-Monday, Jan. 12, 1976), not Death at the Sanatorium by Ragnar Jónasson, adds a nameless title for something real among fictional people.
Someone namelessly braying to Hercule Poirot (Greek ἥρᾱ-κλῆς, “hera-glory [ἥρως, “hero”? ὥρᾱ, “hour/season/year/youth”?]” via ἡρακλῆς, Etruscan Hercle, Latin Herculēs; French Pierre-ot, “Peter-little”) bears real-life Home-Secretary titling. Soldier Guy Fawkes (Apr 13, 1570-Jan. 31, 1606); novelist Edgar Wallace (Apr 1, 1875-Feb. 10, 1932); President George Washington (Feb. 22, 1732-Dec. 14, 1799) constitute reality-checking. All else, apart Captain Hastings and Argentine ranch-dwelling wife Bella, apart Hercule Poirot with the Buchanans in Tavistock or with valet Georges, defers to Buckley dominance.
The Buckley inheritance entails Young Nick enduring dilapidated End House even as she employs housemaid Ellen Wilson and husband William, gardener and father of son Alfred.

Nick fits into Buckley Lodge Melbourne-area Australian Bert Croft and, sometimes with nurse attendant Edith, wife Mildred, for a favor to Nick’s and Gerald’s father, Philip.
A Chinese lacquer-red shawl and Buckley goods go to Nick respectively as Timothy’s great-great-great-niece and as Old Sir Nicholas’ granddaughter and Amy Vyse’s and Philip’s daughter. First-cousin Charles Vyse of Messrs. Vyse, Trevannion & Wynnard handles Buckley legalities, perhaps not for Nick’s Yorkshire cousin Maggie, Rev. Giles Buckley’s and Scottish-wife Jean’s daughter. Nick is in her fifth year as friend important to George Challenger, English Navy Commander and nephew of female-patient nerve-doctor McAllister with regular Paris medical-practice relocations.
A fictional Nick Buckley like, and a nameless title unlike, in Death at the Sanatorium journey fictionally through Peril at End House with many other fictionals.

Nick keeps among her friends Jim Lazarus of Lazarus and Son art dealers on London’s Bond Street and, minus her husband, Frederica Rice, known as Freddie.
Nick lists Charles as End-House and Freddie as everything-else heirs in one will even as she leaves Mildred Croft End House and everything else in another. Michael Seton, son of millionaire Sir Matthew Seton, moves from England to India in his Albatross even as his will mentions only affianced wife Magdala Buckley. The law firm of Messrs. Whitfield, Pargiter & Whitfield note 100 years of netting all Seton-family legal matters, with father and son wills one week apart.
A nameless title in Peril at End House and named detectivists in Death at the Sanatorium occasion fictional occurrences of real-life observations amid everything else all-fictionalized.

Inspector Japp provides his professional experience and expertise to perplexities persisting in four ploys by which Nick possibly perishes even as he pursues forgeress Milly Merton.
Perhaps Buckley socio-economics qualify Nick for more sympathy from friends than Frederica Rice for quitting an abusive, drug-addicted, drunk husband who quarters only the surname Rice. Mott’s Garage repairs the Buckley car whose brakes someone renders useless End-House downhill even as Poirot reviews what Chief Constable Colonel Watson and he realize evidentially. Dr. Graham serves not to stop all the subterfuge even as he succeeds, with nurses, orderly Hodd and probationaries, in Nick seeming stronger in End House.
A nameless title in Peril at End House and mystery detectivists in Death at the Sanatorium team with fictional actors and acts against whoever turns violent.

The detectivist Peril at End House (copyrighted 1931-1932) addresses private- and public-transportation ambiances respectively at the fictional End House, with its anonymous-manufacturer, fictional Buckley car and at the fictional St. Loo train station with the fictional London Express. The latter train arises from the actual Great Western Railway's actual Cornish Riviera Express from actual Penzance, Cornwall to Paddington Station, London, England, and back; "Cornish Riviera Express -- Great Western Railway," in J.R. Howden, The Boys' Book of Locomotives (1907), opposite page 258: Public Domain, via Wikimedia Commons

Fifteen Sunny Days Over Honolulu Awe Moon Phases Over Hawaii May 2025

Summary: Fifteen sunny days over Honolulu awe moon phases over Hawaii May 2025 even as Hilo accounts for 2 sunny, 13 cloudy-sunny and 16 cloudy-rainy-sunny days.

Fifteen sunny days over Honolulu awe moon phases over Hawaii May 2025 even as Hilo accounts for no all-rainy days, 2 all-sunny, cloud- and rain-free days, 13 cloudy-sunny and 16 cloudy-rainy-sunny days.
The new moon that began Sunday, April 27, 2025 bears four days in April and another three days Thursday, May 1 through Saturday, May 3, 2025. The second-configured, first-quarter lunar phase, called mahina hapalua mua (“moon half[-]double first”), commences Sunday, May 4, after the first-configured, new-moon phase called mahina hou (“moon fresh/new/recent”). It delights dark skies through Sunday, May 11, until the third-designed, full-moon phase designated mahina o hoku or mahina piha (“moon of star” or “moon full”).
The full-moon phase, also expressed as mahina poepoe (“moon round”) enlightens the evening and the night skies Monday, May 12, 2025, through Monday, May 19, 2025.

The fourth-featured, third-quarter lunar phase, called mahina hapalua hope (“moon half[-]double last”) figures Tuesday, May 20 through Sunday, May 25 even as a new-moon phase follows.
The fifth-quarter, final-garnered new-moon phase, called mahina hou (“moon fresh/new/recent”), like the first through the third-of-the-month new moon, goes Monday, May 26 through Sunday, June 1. Kapiolani Community College’s Asia-Pacific Digital Library’s Prince Kuki’o Hawaiian Civic Club Calendar hacks each year into 6-month cool-, wet-season ho’oilo (“winter”), 6-month dry-, hot-season kau (“summer”). Unitedstatesian May, identified as ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center’s Mei and Berniece Pauahi Bishop Museum’s Ikiiki (“sultry”) and Ka’aona (“red-brown”), is kau season's Ikiiki (April-May) and Ka’aona (May-June).
Honolulu County’s and Oahu Island’s Honolulu City jubilates 15 sunny days under Hawaii skies May 2025 even as Big-Island’s and Hawaii County’s Hilo jubilates just two.

Bishop-Museum sky maps know first-quarter and full-moon ‘epaki mahina (“moon phases”) respectively as poor-farming, poor-fishing ‘Ole Kūlua (“second nothing pass[ing]”) and excellent-farming, excellent-fishing Māhealani (“hazy sky”).
Bishop Museum’s afore-listed sky maps label the last-quarter and the new-moon phases respectively as good-farming, good-fishing Kāloa Kūkahi (“[god Kanaloa] vast-being[‘s] first-guard[-day]) and excellent-fishing Hilo (“thread”). Hilo’s new-moon nights perhaps mimic daytime cloudy-sunny 1st and cloudy-rainy-sunny 2nd-3rd even as first-quarter nights mimic cloudy-rainy-sunny 4th, 7th, 9th; cloudy-sunny 5th, 8th, 10th-11th; sunny 6th. Daytime cloudy-rainy-sunny 12th-13th, sunny 14th, cloudy-sunny 15th-19th perhaps net one overcastless full-moon night even as daytime cloudy-rainy-sunny 20th, 24th-25th and cloudy-sunny 21st-23rd net overcast last-quarter nights.
Hilo daytime cloudy-rainy-sunny 26th-27th, cloudy-sunny 28th-30th perhaps occasion overcast-free new-moon nights over dark-skied Hawaii May 2025 even as dark-skied Hawaii over Honolulu observes 15 sunny days.

Perhaps Honolulu cloudy-sunny 1st-2nd, sunny 3rd; cloudy-sunny 4th-5th, 7th, 9th-10th, cloudy-rainy-sunny 6th, rainy 8th, sunny 10th respectively prompt one non-overcast new-moon night, one overcast-free first-quarter night.
Honolulu daytime cloudy 12th-13th, cloudy-sunny 14th, cloudy-rainy-sunny 15th-19th; cloudy-rainy-sunny 20th-21st, sunny 22nd-24th, cloudy-sunny 25th respectively perhaps quarter no overcastless full-moon night and one non-overcast third-quarter night. Perhaps daytime Honolulu sunny 26th and 30th, cloudy-sunny 27th, 29th and 31st and cloudy-rainy-sunny 28th realize one overcast-free night rendering no lunar rivals to non-lunar nightlights. Hawaii May 2025 sunny days nightly suggest Hilo 72- (22.2222222-), 70- (21.1111111-), 73-degree-Fahrenheit (22.7777778-degree-Celsius) temperatures 1st-5th, 8th-9th, 11th, 14th-20th, 22nd-23rd, 25th-31st; 6th-7th, 10th, 12th-13th; 21st, 24th.
Sunny days May 2025 nightly tally Honolulu 79- (26.1111111-), 77- (25-), 75-degree-Fahrenheit (23.8888889-degree-Celsius) temperatures 1st; 2nd-9th, 11th, 15th-18th, 20th, 24th, 30th-31st; 10th, 12th-14th, 19th, 21st-23rd, 25th-29th.

The USS Arizona memorial accords with the south coast of Honolulu County on Oahu island. It adds to the tourist ambiance of the Honolulu area. The Honolulu area anticipates 8 to 30 inches (203.2 to 762 millimeters) of annual rainfall even as the Hilo area anticipates 110 to 140 inches (2,794 to 3,556 millimeters); "USS Arizona Memorial in the rain," image of Pearl Harbor National Memorial obtained Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, 19:44: National Park Service, Public Domain, via Wikimedia Commons

Greenland Sharks Are in Can't Get Enough Shark Stuff by Kelly Hargrave

Summary: Greenland sharks are in Can't Get Enough Shark Stuff by Kelly Hargrave and Andrea Silen even as Arctic thaw affects them as climate change therein.

The Irminger Sea, a marginal sea of the North Atlantic Ocean located east of southern Greenland, the Reykjanes Ridge, a northern part of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge located near southwestern Iceland, favor Greenland shark pupping sites, according to Julius Nielsen, a Greenland shark specialist and marine biologist with the Department of Fish and Shellfish, Greenland Institute of Natural Resources, Nuuk, Greenland, and with the History Museum of Denmark, University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark, in "Spatial Distribution of Greenland Shark Somniosus microcephalus (Bloch & Schneider, 1801) Life Stages Across the Northern North Atlantic," a research article with 14 co-authors published in Ecology and Evolution, volume 15, issue 7 (Jul 2025; https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/ece3.71564); Nielsen et al. also identified Skagerrak, a strait located between North Jutlandic Island (Danish: Nørrejyske Ø; northernmost continental Denmark), the east coast of Norway and the west coast of Sweden as connector of the North Sea with the Kattegat sea; Nielsen et al. considered ". . . only the deepest parts of Skagerrak (> 400 m), which connect to the continental shelf break, . . . and not the much shallower inner waters of Denmark and Sweden" as potential, suitable nursing habitats for Greenland sharks; "Caption: Greenland shark from NW approx. 2.5 m caught and released from the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources' research vessel RV Sanna in the area around Uummannaq, NW Greenland. Greenland sharks are in Can't Get Enough Shark Stuff by Kelly Hargrave and Andrea Silen, for National Geographic Kids, even as Arctic thaw affects them as climate change and as Greenland thaw.
Co-authors Kelly Hargrave and Andrea Silen begin their book with a world map where "supercold" (Hargrave/Silen"18) waters of Arctic and North-Atlantic Oceans bathe Greenland sharks. Arctic-Ocean cold, dark depths call Greenland sharks to Baffin Island and coastal-north Greenland and to waters north of coastal-north Iceland and north-archipelagic Norway and European Russia. The coastal waters off eastern North America and coastal-eastern Baffin Island; Greenland; Iceland; United Kingdom; coastal-northern Europe; Norway; coastal-northeast Finland; and European Russia domicile Greenland sharks.
Canadians, Unitedstatesians; Icelanders; Irish, English, Scots; coastal-northern Europeans; Norwegians, Finns; and European Russians infrequently encounter Greenland sharks even as the latter shark species embellishes their waters.

Greenland sharks function at ocean depths of 1.3 miles (2.2 kilometers) below surface waters even as the below-furnished bibliography features 7,200-foot (2,194.56-meter) depths as recentest-figured maximums.
Coastal-east Baffin Island and Greenland; Iceland; coastal-northern Ireland; coastal-east and coastal-northern Great Britain; coastal-northern Europe; Norway; coastal-eastern Finland; and European Russia guard no other shark species. The home-range waters, apart the afore-hailed coastlines, of Greenland sharks hold as their native sharks the four species honored as basking, great-white, Greenland and sand-tiger sharks. Basking sharks, with among world-longest adult sharks at 30-foot (9-meter) lengths and with shark-species world-longest pups at 6-foot (1.8-meter) lengths, inhabit the Atlantic and the Pacific.
Greenland sharks in Can't Get Enough Shark Stuff by Kelly Hargrave and Andrea Silen journey proximitously to basking sharks in East-, North-, West-Atlantic, Irish-Sea, Norwegian-Sea waters.

"Teeth, Etc., of Greenland Shark," 1877 illustration by British naturalist Jonathan Couch (March 15, 1789-April 13, 1870) in Jonathan Couch, History of the Fishes of the British Islands (MDCCCLXVIII [1877]), vol. I, page 66: "Copyright Status: Public domain. The BHL considers that this work is no longer under copyright protection," via Biodiversity Heritage Library

The shark species known as great white keeps the same home-range waters as Greenland sharks along coastal-east North America's northeast Canada's Nova Scotia through coastal-north Florida.
Above-listed locations log continental-shelf, mild-temperature, shallow-seas lodgings-loving sand tigers, whose 100-pup litters live-birth one, whose embryo legacy launches, already learned, motionless, soundless, vibrationless floating landing prey. Perhaps 8- to 21-plus-foot (2.4384- to 6.4008-plus-meter) Greenland sharks' seven-second tail-moving mimics them even as 30-mile (48-kilometer), spurtingly 38-mile (56-kilometer) hourly speeds merge great-white millisecond tail-moving. Fifteen-foot- (4.5-meter-) long, maximally 3,541-pound (1,686-kilogram) great whites net calcium-nourishing, nutrient-niching, weekly-renewable and swallowable pup teeth since birth and 300 mature-age, multirow-aligned, serrated-edged, triangle-sharp, weekly-renewable teeth.
Can't Get Enough Shark Stuff by Kelly Hargrave and Andrea Silen observe great-white 30-year-olds, maximally-estimated 400-year-old Greenland sharks at respective 4,420-foot (1,350-meter) and 7,200-foot (2,194-56-meter) depths.

Who prevails when great-white sharks as largest predatory fishes and as 2-week wound-healing, 4,000-pounds-per-square-inch (281-kilograms-per-square-centimeter) bite-force, subarctic-cold body-warming power-possessing and apex-predatory Greenland sharks pursue preferred-prey seals?
Breathing quintessentializes oxygen-quartering swimming even as great-white and sand-tiger sharks respectively quest above-surface air-gulping afore quiet-drifting after prey and quit swimming for gill-watering, mouth-opened, oxygen-quickened rest-drifting. Backward-rolling pupils render great-white whales temporarily blind and reliant more upon such prey-resisting senses as smell even as cornea-parasitizing Ommatokoita elongata realize Greenland-shark all- or near-blindness. Great-white sharks, as environment-balancing keystone species, secure sustainable-prey populations, prey- and shark-sustainable resources even as seagrass-eating prey otherwise swallow all or too much carbon dioxide-sequestering seagrass.
Arctic thaw and Greenland thaw taunt Greenland sharks with carbon-dioxide air-, water-warming climate change in Can't Get Enough Shark Stuff by Kelly Hargrave and Andrea Silen.

Eric Ste-Marie and co-authors Yuuki Y. Watanabe, Jayson M. Semmens, Marianne Marcoux and Nigel E. Hussey shared their findings on the field metabolic rate (FMR) of Greenland sharks from their research on respirometry in the Arctic in "Life in the slow lane: field metabolic rate and prey consumption rate of the Greenland shark (Somniosus microcephalus) modelled using archival biologgers," published in Journal of Experimental Biology (JEB; volume 225, issue 7 April 6, 2022; URL @ https://journals.biologists.com/jeb/article/225/7/jeb242994/274964/Life-in-the-slow-lane-field-metabolic-rate-and):
