In Russia With Krasnodar Tea Alters Elementary's From Russia With Drugs

Summary: Absenting oneself From Russia with Drugs on Elementary July 4, 2019, perhaps appalls those who abide appreciatively in Russia with Krasnodar tea.

Agendas that arise in Russia with Krasnodar tea are perhaps more accommodating, more authentic than agendas that arise on Elementary procedural drama television series episode From Russia with Drugs July 4, 2019.
Director Michael Hekmat and writer Sean Bennett bring the Russian cultural background of the Brooklyn borough of New York City into the seventh season's seventh episode. The series' 148th episode overall considers cultural contexts as Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) concentrate upon crime scenes and criminal clues. Distinct tattoos on a traffic casualty drove Sherlock to delve into the Salvadoran-American Gang Three, Mara Tres, on Season 7's fourth episode, Red Light, Green Light.
The Brooklyn borough, especially at Brighton Beach, entertains Russian emigrants and exiles; Russian-American enterprises, such as Russian tea rooms; and Russian-American events and extended family networks.

Russian and Russian-American tea rooms frequently feature fast-fermented, oxidized, smoke-scented black teas from evergreen leaves that crumpling and twisting, stove-heating and sun-drying free of vein-filled juices.
Krasnodar Krai, in the North Caucasus Region, grows the northernmost teas in the southernmost regions for Russian admirers of black, green, oolong, white and yellow teas. Krasnodar Krai has the Adlersky, Dagomys, Khosta, Lazerevsky, Matsesta and Solokhaul tea plantations 24.86 miles (40 kilometers) from the 2014 Winter Olympics ski slopes in Sochi. Dagomys, Khosta, Matsesta and Solokhaul plantations respectively implement traditional black; Chinese-like black, green, oolong, white and yellow; organic black and green; and robust green tea production.
Iuda Antonovich Koshman (1838-1935) journeyed from a Jewish settlement in Ukraine to the Georgia tea plantations and then to Solokhaul on the forested Mount Fisht slopes.

The Solokhaul tea plantation knows the first successfully flavorful and frost-resistant Russian-grown tea varieties from 800 Sukhumi tea-packing factory bushes in Iuda's and wife Matryona's backpacks.
Elena Zaviryukhina, Koshman Mansion and Museum keeper, looks to living tea trees from original Koshman plantings in 1901 for 500 years of local crops and teas. The Koshman tea trees managed to root within four years despite winter temperatures between 10 and 14 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 10 and minus 12.22 degrees Celsius). They netted nutritious yields in 1913 despite the Russian Academy of Sciences at St. Petersburg naming North Caucasus ecosystems noxious to agricultural experiments in the 1870s.
Georgian growers of cheap, unflavorful teas along eastern Abkhazia opposed Krasnodar tea cultivation along the livestock-producing west until post-revolutionary Georgia organized into southern Russia's wine-growing region.

Eighteenth-century China produced its native teas for British and Russian monopoly distribution respectively from Nanking over the Southern Seas and overland from the Mongolia-Russia border-town, Kyakhta.
Mongolian gifts during Michael I's (July 22, 1596-July 23, 1645) tsardom and a seed-collecting expedition to Mongolia in 1896 qualify as Russian quests for Russian-grown teas. Expedition and gift trees remained respectively restricted to Georgian agriculturists and noble herbalists since nobody realized amber-tinted, flower-scented, sweet-tasting Russian-grown teas until the Koshman Krasnodar tea. Eleven-thousand-mile (17,702.78-kilometer) overland routes into, and mineral-rich Krasnodar soils since, the 19th century support flavorful, nutritious teas, unlike hot, humid sea routes and unforgiving Georgian soils.
Perhaps online orders of Krasnodar tea tempt Joan as Sherlock perhaps teases ultra-secret chemical structures from kolokol-1, Moscow Dubrovka Theater hostage rescue agent (Oct. 23-26, 2002).

Thich Nhat Hanh and Indra's Net at Parallax Press and Ajanta Cave 17

Summary: Indra's net attaches encyclopedic Ajanta cave 17 in ancient India to Parallax Press of founder Thich Nhat Hanh in modern California, and vice-versa.

Vietnamese Zen Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh founded Parallax Press in 1986 as a nonprofit publisher on the art of mindful living and Engaged Buddhism: Parallax Press @ParallaxPress, via Facebook May 15, 2019

Indra's net of interactive, interconnected Interbeing assembles Ajanta cave 17 wall paintings and sculptures in central-west India for and from Parallax Press of founder Thich Nhat Hanh in Berkeley, California, and vice-versa.
Indra, Iranaian deity brought by Aryan invaders of northwest India before 1700 BCE, built our world with four corner-posts and walls, two doors and one roof. He confined corner-posts and walls, doors for conducting the sun in and out, and thatched roof of overcast sky within his bejeweled, infinite, interactive, interconnected net. One facet of one jewel at one horizontal and vertical demarcation of one interconnection defers to all facets of all jewels at all demarcations and vice-versa.
Thich Nhat Hanh explains for the Journal Resurgence, "In Indra's net, the one is present in the all, and the all is present in the one."

The 1,500-plus-year-old Ajanta cave 17 wall paintings and sculptures function as ancient, visual encyclopedia volumes and publishing houses on the seventh Buddha (from Sanskrit बुद्ध, "awakened").
Itinerant artisans between the third and first centuries BCE and the fifth and eighth centuries CE generated Ajanta (from Sanskrit अजित, "benevolent") monastery and prayer-hall caves. The 113.19- by 84.09-foot (34.5- by 25.63-meter) vihara (from Sanskrit विहार, "walking [hall]") cave 17 has a first- and second-phase prayer-hall cave within a first-phase monastery. Its chaitya-like (from Sanskrit चैत्य, "memorial monument") prayer-hall chapels; colonnaded porch; 20-pillar, 4,095.99-square-foot (380.53-square-meter) hall; shrine; and vestibule illustrate jataka (from Sanskrit जातक, "born under") tales.
Ajanta cave 17 wall paintings and sculptures journey biographically through Gautama (from Sanskrit गोतम, "brightness [dispels] darkness") Buddha's 550 bodhisattva (from Sanskrit बोधिसत्त्व, "enlightened existence") reincarnations.

Indra's net knows Ajanta cave 17 biographical wall paintings and sculptures in Maharashtra state for and from Parallax Press of founder Thich Nhat Hanh and vice-versa.
Ajanta cave 17 wall paintings and sculptures look at Gautama Buddha as the bodhisattva buffalo Mahisha, cloud-horse Valahassa, deer Nigrodha and Ruru and eight-legged stag Sharabha. They move ancient Sangha (from Sanskrit संघ, "multitude") lay and monastic community members through illustrated biographies of bodhisattva elephants Hasti, Matiposaka, Nalagiri of Rajagaha and Shaddanta. They note the bodhisattva fish Machchha, golden goose Dhatarattha of Kancanaguha cave, King Sibi of Aritthapura, monkey king Mahakapi of Benares and Prince Sutasoma of Hastinapur.
Ajanta cave 17, like the Vietnamese homeland of Thich Nhat Hanh, observes Theravada (from Sanskrit स्थविरवाद, "elders' doctrine") and Mahayana (from Sanskrit महायान, "great vehicle") Buddhism.

Mass-enlightening, older Mahayana Buddhism prevails over self-enlightening, younger Theravada in Ajanta cave 17 wall paintings and sculptures and the Parallax Press of founder Thich Nhat Hanh.
Jataka tales of Princes Suvanna Sama of Himavant and Vessantara of Sivirattha qualify as Mahayana Buddhist in biographical, encyclopedia Ajanta cave 17 wall paintings and sculptures. Ajanta cave 17 wall paintings and sculptures of giant wheels reveal Gautama Buddha's 550th reincarnation as Sakyan Prince Siddhartha (from Sanskrit सिद्धार्थ, "successful") Gautama (624?-544 BCE?). They suggest Buddhism's steady spread southward through King Udayin (died 19 BCE) of Magadha and through Prince Vijaya of Sinhapura (died 50 BCE) into Sri Lanka.
Indra's net ties Ajanta cave 17 wall paintings and sculptures to Parallax Press of founder Thich Nhat Hanh through mass-enlightening, self-enlightening teachings of its sculpted Buddha.

July 2, 2019, Total Solar Eclipse Belongs to Saros Cycle 127

Summary: The July 2, 2019, total solar eclipse belongs to Saros cycle 127, a series of 82 similar solar eclipses.

Partial solar eclipse of Oct. 10, 991, opened Saros 127’s lineup of 82 solar eclipses: "Permission is freely granted to reproduce this data when accompanied by an acknowledgment, Eclipse Predictions by Fred Espenak (NASA's GSFC)," via NASA Eclipse Web Site

The July 2, 2019, total solar eclipse belongs to Saros cycle 127, which comprises 82 lunar eclipses with similar geometries.
The early July total solar eclipse began Tuesday, July 2, at 18:01:04.3 Universal Time (2:01 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time). The eclipse ended Tuesday, July 2, at 20:44:44.3 UT (4:44 p.m. EDT). The month’s total solar eclipse happened 2.4 days before lunar perigee (Ancient Greek: περί, perí, “near” + γῆ, gê, “Earth”).
The year’s second of three solar eclipses especially favored the South Pacific Ocean east of New Zealand with entire visibility. Parts of Argentina and Chile in southern South America also benefited from entire visibility.
July 2019’s total solar eclipse appeared as number 58 in Saros cycle 127’s lineup of 82 solar eclipses. Retired NASA astrophysicist Fred Espenak’s EclipseWise website notes that Saros 127 solar eclipses share the geometry of occurring at the moon’s ascending node. With each succeeding eclipse in Saros 127, the lunar movement is southward with respect to the ascending node.
The ascending node pairs with the descending node as crossing points of Earth’s orbit by the moon’s orbit. The approximately 5.1 degree tilt of the moon’s orbit with respect to Earth’s orbit accounts for the two nodes. The ascending node marks the lunar crossing to the north of Earth’s orbit. The descending node indicates the lunar crossing to the south of Earth’s orbit.
A Saros cycle equates to approximately 6,585.3 days (18 years 11 days 8 hours). Saros series 127 has a total duration of 1,460.44 years.
Total solar eclipses claim the most number of Saros 127 eclipses, with a total number of 42 occurrences. Saros 127 exhibits a sequence order of 20 partial solar eclipses, 42 total solar eclipses and 20 partial solar eclipses.
Early July 2019’s total solar eclipse occurs as number 38 in Saros 127 series’ intermediate sequence of 42 total solar eclipses. Its predecessor is the total solar eclipse of June 21, 2001.
June 2001’s solar eclipse appears as number 37 in the total solar eclipse sequence and as number 57 in Saros 127’s lineup of 82 solar eclipses. This eclipse especially favored the South Atlantic Ocean and southern Africa. The June 2001 total solar eclipse happened 2.2 days before lunar apogee (Ancient Greek: ἀπό, apó, “away” + γῆ, gê, “Earth”).
The successor of the July 2, 2019, total solar eclipse in Saros 127 will appear July 13, 2037, as number 39 in the sequence of 42 total solar eclipses and as number 59 in Saros 127’s lineup of 82 solar eclipses. This eclipse happens 2.6 days before lunar perigee. The July 2037 total solar eclipse particularly favors Australia and New Zealand as well as the South Pacific Ocean’s Tasman Sea and the southeastern Indian Ocean.
Saros 127 begins and ends with a partial solar eclipse. Fred Espenak’s EclipseWise website notes that the opening eclipse began in the Northern Hemisphere while the closing eclipse will begin in the Southern Hemisphere.
The partial eclipse of Oct. 10, 991, opened Saros 127. The series’ opening eclipse especially favored the Svalbard archipelago, Finland and far northwestern Russia’s Kola Peninsula as well as the Arctic Ocean’s Norwegian and Barents Seas. The eclipse happened 6.4 days before lunar apogee, according to retired NASA astrophysicist Fred Espenak’s EclipseWise website.
The Saros 127 series closes March 21, 2452, with a partial solar eclipse. The series’ closing eclipse particularly favors the Southern Ocean off East Antarctica and the adjacent small segment of the southeastern Atlantic Ocean. The eclipse happened 5.1 days after lunar apogee.
The takeaway for the July 2, 2019, total solar eclipse is that event occurs as number 38 in Saros 127’s intermediate sequence of 42 total solar eclipses and as number 58 in the series’ lineup of 82 solar eclipses.

Partial solar eclipse of March 21, 2452, occurs as the closing eclipse in Saros 127’s lineup of 82 solar eclipses: "Permission is freely granted to reproduce this data when accompanied by an acknowledgment, Eclipse Predictions by Fred Espenak (NASA's GSFC)," via NASA Eclipse Web Site

Born July 7, 1887, Marc Chagall Designed Die Zauberflöte at Met Opera

Summary: Born July 7, 1887, Marc Chagall designed Die Zauberflöte costumes and sets for a new production during the 1966-1967 season at the Metropolitan Opera.

Born July 7, 1887, Belarusian Jewish-French artist Marc Chagall designed costumes and scenes for the 1966-1967 Met Opera season’s new production of Die Zauberflöte by Classical Era composer Wolfgang Mozart (Jan. 27, 1756-Dec. 5, 1791).
The 1966-1967 Met Opera season’s new production of Die Zauberflöte opened Feb. 19, 1967. The new production received 19 performances in its first season. Austrian conductor and violinist Josef Krips (April 8, 1902-Oct. 13, 1974) made his Metropolitan Opera debut as the new production’s conductor.
German opera director Günther Rennert (April 1, 1911-July 31, 1978) directed the new production. Marc Chagall made his Metropolitan Opera debut as the new production’s designer.
The Dallas Times Herald’s classical music critic, Speight Jenkins Jr. (born Jan. 31, 1937), commended Chagall’s designs. He observed: “From beginning to end, the welter of color created the non-realistic landscape which is the domain of ‘Zauberflöte.’”
Jenkins’ review noted that a colorful succession of backdrops and side drops signaled scene changes but described the costumes, with the exception of Papageno’s, as “over-colored.” In a 2015 Vogue article, freelance writer Julia Felsenthal enumerated Chagall’s designs at 39 stage curtains and 121 costumes and masks.
Die Zauberflöte audiences viewed Chagall’s designs in eight revivals. The first revival took place in the next season, 1967-1968. A second revival happened in the 1969-1970 season. Die Zauberflöte skipped the 1971-1972 season but was revived consecutively for the 1972-1973 and 1973-1974 seasons. The fifth revival took place in the 1976-1977 season, after a skip of two seasons (1974-1975, 1975-1976). After a season’s skip, the sixth revival took place in the 1978-1979 season. After another seasonal skip, the Chagall-designed production was revived for two consecutive seasons, in 1980-1981 and again in 1981-1982 Met Opera seasons. The 1981-1982 season’s closing night, June 10, 1982, marked the last staging of the Chagall-designed production.
The Metropolitan Opera has staged seven new productions of Die Zauberflöte since the fairytale opera’s Metropolitan Opera premiere on March 30, 1900. The Metropolitan Opera debuted the first new production Nov. 23, 1912, for the opera’s 27th performance at the opera house. German stage manager Anton Schertel (ca. 1855-March 13, 1913) directed the new production. His production team included Austrian-born artist and set designer Hans Kautsky (1864-1937), set designer, and Georg Heil, costume designer.
Met Opera’s second new production debuted Nov. 6, 1926, for Met Opera’s 62nd performance of Die Zauberflöte. Viennese American stage manager Samuel Thewman (Feb. 27, 1872-March 22, 1940) directed the production, with designs by Russian artist and set designer Sergey Yurievich Sudeikin (March 19, 1882-Aug. 12, 1946), known as Serge Soudeikine.
The third production debuted Dec. 11, 1941, for Met Opera’s 69th performance of Die Zauberflöte. Austrian-American opera producer Herbert Graf (April 10, 1903-April 5, 1973) directed the new staging, with designs by Czech American set and costume designer Richard Rychtarik (July 20, 1894-July 10, 1982).
Herbert Graf directed the fourth new staging, which debuted Feb. 23, 1956, for Met Opera’s 121st performance of Mozart’s fairytale opera. Designs were by Austro-Hungarian-born American art director Harry Horner (July 24, 1910-Dec. 5, 1994).
The Rennert-directed, Chagall-designed production was the opera house’s fifth new production of Die Zauberflöte. After eight seasons without Mozart’s fairytale opera, The Metropolitan Opera debuted its sixth new production in the 1990-1991 season. English opera director John Cox’s (born March 12, 1935) original production opened Jan. 10, 1991, under the direction of Guus Mostart, with designs by English stage designer David Hockney (born July 9, 1937). The Metropolitan Opera staged seven revivals of the Hockney-designed production. The seventh revival took place during the 2000-2001 Met Opera season.
The Metropolitan Opera’s current production of Die Zauberflöte debuted Oct. 8, 2004, as successor to the Hockney-designed production. American film, opera and theater director Julie Taymor is credited as the new production’s director and costume designer. She shares puppet design credits with Michael Curry. George Tsypin is the set designer.
In 2015, six costumes and four masks designed by Chagall emerged from Met Opera storage for display in an exhibition at the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown, Central New York Region, New York. The exhibition, “Marc Chagall’s Magic Flute: Highlights From the Metropolitan Opera,” ran from April 1 to Dec. 31, 2015. Chris Rossi, the exhibition’s curator, explained in Julia Felsenthal’s July 6, 2015, article in Vogue: “Chagall was a big music fan, Mozart in particular.” For Chagall, the Bible and The Magic Flute exemplified perfection.
The takeaway for Marc Chagall, who was born July 7, 1887, is that the Belarusian Jewish-French artist’s costumes and scene changes for the 1966-1967 Met Opera season’s new production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte represent his sole involvement in operatic production at the Metropolitan Opera.

Slovak operatic soprano Lucia Popp (Nov. 12, 1939-Nov. 15, 1993) made her Metropolitan Opera debut as the Queen of the Night in the 1966-1967 Met Opera season’s new production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte; hand-painted costumes were designed by Belarusian Jewish-French artist Marc Chagall: The Metropolitan Opera @MetOpera, via Facebook Jan. 27, 2017
