Coloboma Eyed Madeleine McCann Lookalike Sighting in Areguá, Paraguay

Summary: A colombola eyed Madeleine McCann lookalike sighting in Areguá, Paraguay, becomes credible if the twelve-year-old also has different-colored eyes.

Descriptions of a coloboma eyed Madeleine McCann lookalike sighting in Areguá, Paraguay, in 2016, accentuate the “abertura en la parte inferior de la pupila" ("opening in the lower part of the pupil").
Information from British private detective Miraz Ullah Ali Isa for “an advert in the newspaper with the biggest circulation in the country” bypasses two additional characteristics. Both characteristics can be found mentioned on page 27 of the first volume in the Guarda Nacional Republicana’s (National Republican Gendarmerie’s) 17-volume, 4,717-page main case files. The report filed May 4, 2007, by Officer José Maria Battista Roque, describes the distinguishing marks of a three-year-old missing from Praia da Luz, Algarve, Portugal. It enumerates: “na perna esquerda tem uma pequena mancha, tipo sarda acastanhada." ("On the left leg she has one small mark, kind [of a] chestnut-brown freckle.")
The Auto de notícia de desaparecimento (Report of News of Disappearance) furnishes sparse physical descriptions of Drs. Gerald Patrick and Kate Marie Healy McCann’s eldest child. It gives as hair color “aloirados com pontas acastanhadas a tocar nos ombros (blonde with chestnut tips touching the shoulders)” and height 0.90 meters (2.95 feet). It has for eye colors “olho esquerdo azul, olho direito esverdeado com castanho (left eye blue, right eye greenish with chestnut-brown),” characteristics that Guaraní-speaking Paraguayans notice. Guaraní culture and language influence such Paraguayan perceptions as the shamanistic powers of the boy or girl, man or woman whose eyes are of different colors.
Heterochromia (different color) joins coloboma (defect) as characteristics requiring confirmation for a coloboma eyed Madeleine McCann lookalike sighting to be other than one of mistaken identity.
Special contact lenses keep the iris with the different-colored, star-like spikes of central heterochromia, or the partial color difference in sectoral heterochromia, safe from superficial scrutiny. They sometimes let the two different-colored irises of complete heterochromia pass detection as long as the difference is not extreme and the lenses are top quality. Heterochromia may result from inherited excesses or lack of the pigment melanin or from impacts upon the iris of glaucoma-prescribed eye drops, inflammation, injury or tumors.
The smudged shapes that may prompt a diagnosis of sectoral heterochromia need to be differentiated from the smudged openings that may warrant a diagnosis of coloboma.
Smudges offer an oval shape in some cases or, for any credible coloboma eyed Madeleine McCann lookalike sighting, a keyhole shape to the pupil’s lower rim.
Coloboma, a rare congenital blemish in less than one of every 10,000 births, prompts concern from opthalmologists such as Dr. Patricia Macnair of Guildford, Surrey, England. The choroid (oxygen-carrier), the iris, the optic disc (physiological blind spot) and the retina qualify as ocular structures where the choroid fissure may not close prenatally.
Dr. Macnair reveals that particularly “If the iris is affected, the pupil may be oval or keyhole-shaped rather than round, and central vision may be affected.”
Coloboma and heterochromia together in one pre-adolescent girl whose life may be subjected to the constant stress of changed identities and locations suggest frequent ophthalmology-related visits.
Paper trails that ophthalmology-related services create and that serve to confirm, or not, any coloboma eyed Madeleine McCann lookalike sighting take investigators into confidential doctor-patient files.
